    Tricky setup, great integration

    • Written by from Murray

Here are some tips to getting the wifi connection: (took a couple hours to learn this)

    1. Ensure your wifi network name is only alphanumeric. No special characters are allowed.
    2. Disable any additional signal boosters (I.e. Additional airport devices, extending the network.
    3. Have the aria as close to the router as possible.
    4. I used the web based setup rather than the app to finally get it working.

Setting up additional users was quick and easy. Also there are some excellent app integrations that work fairly seamlessly.

Tried to setup for an hour and would not sync. Reading the rest of the reviews it's obviously a major problem. Do Not Buy This Piece Of Junk

    Great Scale

    • Written by from SACRAMENTO

I have owned my scale for 1 year now. This scale is great. It was easy to setup on my MacBook Pro, iPhone & iPad. The scale is as accurate as they get & I love their web site. The batteries lasted me about 8 months & are easy to replace.

If you do the right thing YOU WILL LOVE IT

    • Written by from Kippa Ring

It really is simple, if you use a fitbit tracker to go the extra mile (or 3) and log your (healthyish) foods you will see you weight lower, your lean tissue increase and your fat decrease. If you choose a sedentary lifestyle and eat rubbish you will see the opposite and dismiss these scales. The graphs are motivation enough to see you through, your call!

Poor service from Fitbit - cannot set up

    • Written by from Chicheser

I also wasted 4hrs of my time trying to set this up on imac, laptop, ipad and iphone and none of them work! Emailed Fitbit 3 times and no response! Gutted as I love my fitbit one and thought it was an ideal partner! Going back as useless!!

    great idea. frail product

    • Written by from New Milford

my colleague and i both are fitbit fans. i have turned dozens of people onto their devices. my family of 5 all wear fitbit flex.

bought the scale at best buy. setup only worked via my iPhone. would not work via macbook pro. worked great for 6 months. loved it. became addicted. decent app too, especially new iPhone version. but it suddenly stopped woking. replaced all batteries. no luck. reset. no luck. had same ERR problem. dead.

my colleague has experienced exactly the same problem. sent his back and fitbit replaced it. tech support acknowledged problem. basically great tech idea, good implementation, but faulty product. WAY too fragile. must be losing a fortune.

ever wonder why apple is killing it with their products? they work.

Only buy it if you want to be frustrated

    • Written by from West Bloomfield

Setup is impossible. I should have taken the reviews that said that seriously. I am sitting next to my router and it won't join my wireless network. Every time I try to connect the scale to my fitbit account, it disconnects my computer from the network. I have also tried the mobile setup but it never connects. Don't waste your money. Buy a different scale. I'm sending this stupid thing back tomorrow.

Great scales : Even better when you own the Fitbit

    • Written by from Brisbane

The scales were really easy to set up. Connected to both a Macbook Air and MacBook Pro in minutes. They sync effortlessly every time we weigh ourselves and are a great way of tracking Weight and Body fat %.

When used with the Fitbit dashboard they also calculate BMI.

    Would buy again!

    Disappointed with iPhone 5 sync

    • Written by from Chubbuck

Love the Fitbit -.syncs great with my laptop. When I try to sync with iPhone (which would be more convenient for me) it just spins it's wheels and won't sync. I have to power off my phone each time i want to get it to sync. Very inconvenient.

Love this scale, I have the Flex and this scale. Great combo, I weigh myself in the mornings and track my steps and food via the app throughout the day.

I agree with others - this is not a high end scale as it fluctuates quite a bit. That said for basic weight it is ok. After being on vacation for two weeks it would not sync when I got back. Tried resetting any reconnecting 10 times. Only after I reset my network router did it connect again.... I can't explain.

    Fantastic Gadget

    • Written by from Mawson Lakes

Reading all negative reviews I was a bit worried. However for me the setup using software for Mac worked seamlessly. Aria connected to my WiFi on the first attempt, recognised me and synced with my Fitbit account.

The only hiccup I had - although data was there I could not see Aria in My Devices. Then I realised I did not enter scale name during setup. So I repeated it - and bingo.

The weight reading is consistent with my other trusted scale and does not fluctuate within several attempts. It does change as well as body fat during the day which is normal. I would not expect my body impedance to remain the same all the time. The key is to take readings at the same time of the day and not to rely on absolute reading for body fat, rather to monitor the relative progress over time.

Scale, Features and Benefits are Top Notch!

    • Written by from Blue Mountains

Only bad reviews are because people cannot get it setup, but anyone who has it setup LOVES IT especially if they truly log their calories and workout.... I have lost over 61lbs with it and seeing the progress, goal dates etc.. is truly inspiring for me and keeps me going...

If you don't have the drive to follow through and learn the calories for the foods you eat and don't LOG them EVERY DAY which is a must for real results you will be disappointing cause you will likely not get great results. Unfortunately that is 90% of people if not more :)

    Anyways, IT ROCKS!

Set-up can be very difficult if not impossible

    • Written by from Milton

Purchased this scale as I already had a fitbit and thought it would be a nice addition. Fitbit offers two ways to connect this product to wifi. Option 1 is a download tool that you use on your computer and Option 2 is using your smart phone. I tried both options multiple times over two nights investing about 4 hours of time into it and couldn't get the scale connected to the wifi. The scale at one point was only inches away from the router and it still couldn't find it. In the end the only solution was to return the product to Apple for a refund.

    Hours I'll Never Get Back

    • Written by from HALIFAX

Let me preface this by saying that I am an electronics tech and am not new to setting up network and electronic devices.

I buy it from the apple store, take it home and begin it's presumed quick setup.
After 3 hours, two emails (because fitbit doesn't own a phone) and two breaks, I packed it up and return it to the apple store and purchased a Withings WS-50.
The Wthings took 2 minutes to setup and that was including account setup, installing it on two devices and setting up two users.

Aria is a Hunk Of Junk
Still no reply from fitbit BTW...

Piece of cake to set up. I initially set mine up on my iMac and works at treat with iPad and iPhone apps.

Simply step up, stand still, step down and forget, review the stats later.

Recognises everyone in my house with ease.

Totally recommend for anyone that's watching heir waist line.

They should have called it the DieAria

    • Written by from NEW YORK

Bought my first scale, setup went flawlessly, showed up on the fitbit dashboard. All good.
Step on the scale "ERR" step on again "ERR". Return for a new one. Get home, flawless setup, step on scale "ERR", step on scale again "ERR".

Return and buy withings scale and it just works. The setup is a little more annoying though.
