Setup and use was easy, no i5 connection

Easy to set up, probably one of the few that has been 'plug 'n play'. Had to download the app and then it was up and running after a few simple inputs. Easy to use, instructions in the app and the booklet that came with BP monitor were clear and they give you lots of little tips by email later on. Is there a downside? Yes - I have an iPhone 5 and so had to buy a crossover to plug the old big plug into the new small receptacle.
I haven't confirmed the readings with my Dr. yet but that's my plan in a few weeks. But I'll still get a trend over the next few weeks which is one of the key measurements I'm looking for.
Recommended: Yes if you are interested in your BP.

It is only for 9 to 17 inch arms. Bigger arms will generate high and erroneous readings. No customer service number to call in Owner's manual. It is being returned :( anyone konw of a BP monitor that is WIFI capable with a large cuff?

A nice tool to monitor health & fitness

I've used this product for over six months and it has worked flawlessly. I use it with the Withings iPad app which has a sleek and simple user interface that visualizes my historical blood pressure measurements.

I paired the blood pressure monitor with the Withings body scale. The iPad app has allowed me to see a correlation between weight reduction (and exercise) and improved blood pressure readings.

Overall this product is a nice tool to help with an overall health & fitness plan.

The unit itself seems good enough... But the unit is kinda useless without the software. I bought my unit shortly after Christmas 2012. On the 30th the software kept crashing. This rather embarrassing "bug" was documented on the WiThing website. A bug? Really strange "bug" if you ask me... More likely an Easter egg from a disgruntled programmer. TRY SOME QA (Quality Assurance) -sheesh. Now, the app is saying I need to gain 62kg... Another "bug"....

Hardware is just more junk without the software. grrrrr. Idiots

I would have never believed that I would enjoy a blood pressure monitor, but this model by Withings has changed my mind. Every morning and evening, I check my BP and it stores all of my scans. The charts are easily accessible and easy to read. The product should really be showcased on a stand at the Apple store so that the quality can be viewed first hand. From the images on the Internet, the cuff seemed small and low grade, but after I opened the box, I was pleased to see that it was solid and was built to go a long ways.

Two things I would recommend to keep in mind ...
    1. The only email setting is for the original user that is set up.
    2. The original 30 pin connection doesn't work in the new iPhones, iPads, and iPods. I haven't tested an adapter yet.

considering you can get a manual version for £20 or less this is an over-engineered luxury - but it's a lovely piece of equipment, designed in a similar vein to apple kit form the packaging to the device itself. You simply plug it in, download the app that is automatically suggests and follow the instructions. The app is elegant and useful and overall it's a lovely, over the top product.

    Well made, functions sometimes...

I had one of these BP cuffs and sent it back. It's made extremely well and the iPhone and iPad app is great;however, the sensor in the cuff is very difficult to place in the exact position even after watching the video and reading the documentation. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't, even if I had it on my arm and didn't touch it.. When it worked it worked perfectly and accurately, just couldn't get the thing put on my arm correctly 100%. Hope this helps someone else. .

useful portability but way too pricey for what it offers compared to competition. Now if it had WiFi capabilities like Withings weighing scale .....

I purchased this device 2 weeks ago, my wife & I use it on our indivual iPad. Loved it until she took it to the doctor with her & they testedi it. Was told it was not accurate, numbers were too high. Proved it to her by taking pressure with there equipment. It took the trust out of the device, at least until i see an update come out that states "More Accurate than last update".

We purchased this product a month ago and used it almost daily. That's me and my wife on our own individual iPads. When my wife went for a doctor's appointment, he was very pleased to see a month's worth of blood pressure history. He took measurement of her blood pressure himself and it was dead-on with what Withings measures. We're a month later and it's still running on the same batteries.

We do not regret this purchase.

Beautiful design, but finicky operation. Too many errors stating to refit the cuff and try again, even though I had followed the instructions carefully. Readings were inconsistent with other BP cuffs.

    Stupid cord length

    • Written by from New Westminster

37 of 44 people found this useful

This product is hardly usable as the cord length is about a foot. How are you supposed to let your i-device rest and not hold if you are taking your blood pressure at the same time?

Cord needs to be at least 2 to 3 feet long so you can rest the i-device and sit down at a table at the same time.

    Very poor design.

An expensive novelty! A great paper weight!

This device can measure and track normal readings. It cannot detect anything out of the ordinary. It records high readings as normal. So, you never know when you are experiencing something that requires further medical attention. If you have heart problems, stay away from this device; it could cost you your life or result in a stroke. I went into atrial fibrillation with an irregular heart rate of 110. The Withings device registered 48. Fortunately, I have another device that is more accurate in its readings. I kept comparing readings to my disappointment with the Withings. I now use it as a paper weight. With my medical condition I can't afford to trust it.

The iPad app is very non-intuitive

    • Written by from Pensacola

I love the monitor itself and the large cuff. Taking the blood pressure reading is easy and the app provides a great interface for each BP session; HOWEVER, the app is not very intuitive when it comes to viewing your BP history (especially the graph) or manually adding your daily weight (in case you don't feel like spending a small fortune for a bluetooth Withings scale. It's as if Withings designed the app with virtually no consideration for those who want to make manual entries. And I wish that I could "turn off" the entire weight tracking system, so that I could focus on BP only.

Created a Withings account through their IOS app. Account data is sync'd to their server and can be accessed via any IOS device. Great interface via the iPhone or iPad. Blood pressure cuff can be use on adults and children without too much issue. Had to run the test 2x on the kids arms to get a reading, which could have been just a cuff alignment issue. Would definitely recommend this BPM to everyone with an IOS device.

This really is worth buying, it gives accurate information easily. Compared to other more expensive doctors equipment and it is accurate every time.
