Works very well but ensure you're using the right graphics mode!

Both video and sound work very well but check your graphics card status first!

I have a mid-2010 15 inch MBP i7 with dual graphics: discrete graphics (NVIDIA Geoforce GT 330M) and the standard Integrated Intel graphics.
I was on battery when I wanted to try out the Moshi with a brand new Apple HDMI cable. Plugged in to a LG TV but it didn't seem to work. Looked at hardware and display system settings on MacOS X - both the display or the sound output did not list the HDMI TV. The little leaflet that came with Moshi didn't say anything else. I tried plugging in and out a few times but the same result - nothing. Then I noticed that my energy saver setting on system settings had "Automatic graphics switching" off and the graphics card status was "integrated only".

I switched it to the NVIDIA discrete card by plugging the laptop in and voila! it worked!
Normally you won't know which card is being used when. unless you use a tool like gfxCardStatus, but this may explain why some folk didn't get it working the first time.

The video and sound works great out of the box - and all you need to do is set the "sound" hardware options on system preferences: change "output" from "internal speakers" to whatever your TV / Monitor / HDMI device's name is. And that's all!

Hope this helps folks who couldn't get it working the first time!

Worked like a treat but 2 months on it stopped working
What I would call a short term solution!
Don't buy until the longevity issue is resolved

Just got it today. Hooked it up to an HDMI cord and our HDTV, and TV looked great coming from our 2010 MacBook Pro 13". Very pleased with this product! Easy to use and set-up. Did have to change settings a bit for it to work right, but much easier than it would have been on a Windows machine!

Works on Macbook Pro (Early 2011) as well

After plugging it in, you have to go to System Preferences -> Sound, and then select your audio output device. In my case, it was my Samsung TV.

The box is poorly worded. And so is the product description right here in the Apple store.

"Note: *Audio support is *ONLY* available for MacBook Pro 13/15/17-in. mid-2010 release; iMac 21.5/27-in. early-2010 release"

I emphasized *ONLY*. That lead me to believe that it only worked for the models released in mid-2010 only. In fact, it should read "...early-2010 and later".

I ordered this for my new MPB and the video worked right away. Apparently, my Sony TV is not compatible with the audio feed. I switched the cable over to my stereo receiver and it works great for both video and audio.

I just bought a 42" LG LED LCD TV (42LE5400) and was hoping to connect my '09 MBP to it via HDMI. I read the previous reviews and knew my audio wouldn't work, but I can't even get my video to come through. Maybe it's because my graphics card isn't good enough, but it should be.

LG & Moshi's customer support hasn't been helpful. Will return for the VGA adapter if this doesn't get figured out.

This is an above par product, as far as working! Thank you for the information MM from Orlando for how to tell if your Mac will work with HDMI audio ☺. I am using it on a MacBook Air 13 inch, December 2010 model, and have had no problems since I purchased the Moshi Mini DP to HDMI adapter from my local Apple store. Ok that is the good it works! Now for the bad, it fell apart as soon as I took it out of the packaging, the aluminum cover and back plate just fell off so I am off going to make the 12 mile trip back to the apple store in the next few days to see if this is a known problem or if mine was just not properly put together.

I had read several reviews that talked of how unreliable this adapter can be and they were all absolutely true. I have had this adapter for less than two weeks, attached to a brand new computer, and it has already begun to be very sensitive. Simply touching the HDMI cable will cause my external monitor to go blank and I have to play with the adjustment until its just right all over again. It's great, when it actually works....

I bought this originally in January, and it worked for about 3 weeks before dying. Thinking I had a bad product by fluke, I went in and got it replaced. Again in about 3 weeks it stopped connecting to my TV at all. Complete rip-off. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

This is my first time writing a review about a product. Being benefit from others reviews, I think I should contribute something so others can also enjoy.
I just bought this adapter a few days ago (plus bought a HDMI cable seperately). I want to connect my MacBook Pro 13" to my Panasonic Viera 42"HDTV so I can watch youtube on bigger screen. As it stated on the product details, this adapter can also support audio output if the MacBook was bought in mid-2010 (I got my macbook in Aug 2010)
Once I got the adapter and cable, I connected them with my TV and MacBook (with both TV and Macbook turned on). However, I only got blank screen. After trying for couple times, I turned to the internet and tried to find out solution. Believe it or not, there is no special skills you need to make it work. The only trick is do not turn on your TV and Mac before you connect the HDMI cable and adapter. Plug in your HDMI cable to any HDMI outlet on your TV and connect it to MacBook with the adapter. Then turn on your TV (turn to the HDMI channel) and MacBook, your MacBook should recognize the signal almost immediately (screen appear within a blink). For the sound, go to system preference and select "panasonic tv" it will take a minute to switch sound from macbook to TV
Both sound and image are good with this adapter. It just need a little bit patience to get it work! highly recommend.

I read that the audio may not be supported with my iMac, definitely not with the Macbook. I purchased my iMac around November of '09, so I was afraid it may not support the HDMI audio. I figured I could just run that separately if it didn't. I first ran it separately, but the audio wouldn't work coming out of the headphone/speaker jack if the HDMI was connected so I decided to read the instructions that come with the cable. It tells you to go into the "sound" settings and configure the audio for HDMI output. As soon as I did that the audio was playing through my television using the HDMI, no separate audio cable. Also, when i disconnect the HDMI the speakers on my iMac start functioning again without having to adhust any settings.
