    Doesn't work

    • Written by from FORT LEE

It simply does not work... at all.
It deserves a rating of less than one star.

My MacbookPro 17" has worked seamlessly with alternate display devices, in foreign countries, with the Apple VGA adapter... plug and go !

HDMI is fast becoming the standard in display monitors; hopefully there will be a reliable solution.

Thankfully, Apple does have a decent return policy.

    Stopped working for me too

    • Written by from Tulsa

This worked wonderfully at first, then it started to cut out, and I was afraid it was my macbook since it had been dropped. They tested the DVI outlet in the store and said I was fine, so I got a replacement HDMI cable. Turns out it was this thing. $35 down the drain! It worked for 3 months, tops. It will now only work in a very specific position. I will be buying from a different company.

    It's exactly what i wanted

    • Written by from NEW YORK

While the case isn't the slimmest, i've had it for 8 months on my 46" tv and my 11" MBA. Audio pass through is fine and it supports 1080p.

The only 2 issues I have are 1) i wish it were slimmer / more streamline; and 2) 1080p video is choppy on my MBA 11" but i'll blame that on the relatively old technology in the Air rather than the adapter itself.

Up in running in 5 minutes...

    • Written by from anchorage

works exactly as advertised on my wife's new Macbook Pro 13 inch. just a quick set up for the audio(follow directions that came with it). then open the "displays" to select 1080p. i did have to switch from using my Bose speakers back to the TV speakers to get sound, but that's no big deal...just push a button. Satisfied!

    Excellent!

Video on HD TV is amazing. Shows at the maximum resolution your graphics card/computer puts out. Great color. Works great for viewing iphotos on TV. For movies also carries sound to TV. Works great!

13" Air DV port doesn't drive audio, but great picture.

    • Written by from Fairfax

Great video, but the Macbook Air 13" MiniDV port doesn't drive audio. Not Moshi's fault, but be aware of the limitation when using the the Air.

Worked well for a few weeks

    • Written by from Montreal

Overpriced for the quality of the product. Fails to connect consistently, have to play with the wire to get lucky and get the TV to connect. Take a pass on this model.

    Excellent bit of kit

Excellent little adaptor. Used this to connect a MacBook Pro to an HD Samsung TV with an HDMI cable for a presentation. Worked great - simple to use, just plug and play. Would recommend.

Broken after a few months, just like the rest

    • Written by from REDMOND

So my adapter was working fine when I first got it, but slowly the cord gets twisted, or something, and the adapter becomes less functional with every use.

The attachment that used to seem snug and tight now feels loose when attached, and instead of having a good connection typically there will be random screen flickering throughout use or just completely fail to function which is what it has finally come down to.

This would be my 2nd adapter I have needed to get.

This works both for video and audio on my new MacBook Air (late 2010)!! Really is plug and play (or work) on my home theater system and a 65' tv.

    Works as advertized!

    • Written by from Montreal

I have a MBP 15" mid-2010. First, for the Moshi adapter to work, the MBP must be set the Nvidia video card. Second, the other end of the HDMI connection must be... connected to the hardware you intend to use. My setup was a Yamaha RX-V765
7.2-Channel receiver and a Sanyo PLV-Z3000 projector (MBP -> Yamaha -> Sanyo). Once that was setup, the MBP saw the projector and the eight audio channel out were available to any audio app (Logic, Cubase, Bidule, wathever). So it works as advertised!

    Sporadic success at best

    • Written by from Bethesda

Out of the box the Moshi work on my 50 inch Samsung LED HD Tv with audio, no problem. Then I tried to use it for a client presentation; using their in office Pioneer LCD (which is a much more expensive LCD than mine) and nada! My mac book pro (purchased May 2010) would try to detect the display but no go.

After an hour of painful embarrassment from my failed presentation, I immediately came home and tried to plug in my Samsung again,,and nada. I wiggle the cord, rebooted my mac, reset every setting I could think of on my Samsung -- then on my last attempt it suddenly started working. As it stands now, I have a 40% success rate with this product.

So if 40% success works for you than feel free to spend the money. I have since abandoned this product and got the Apple adaptors for VGA, and DVI. Though the picture quality is not as good and no audio, I can count on it working 100% of the time.

    Invalid Format fixed !!!!

    • Written by from pink lily

For hours i had trouble getting this to work on Sony Bravia - it kept saying 'invalid format'. Eventually I worked it out after searching the web for answers but none found. First you need to know the resolution of your tv - just google it. Second try this - System preferences - Displays then select the 'Show Displays in Menu Bar''. now up in menu bar select the display picture(next to the wifi signal) there should be the resolution option for your tv - hopefully. works excellent now.

This is the worst product ever!!!

    • Written by from Evanston

Please do not waste your money on this product. I purchased this product on the Apple Store website when I bought my MacBook Pro. I thought it would be fine since it was on the Apple website, boy was I wrong! This product stopped working a day and a half after I got it. If you are considering a Mini Display to HDMI adaptor please try another brand because this one is HORRIBLE! I recommend that no one wastes their time and money on this product.
