One of the best small backpacks you will find

    • Written by from Edmonton

This backpack works great for carrying your laptop! It has an internal dividing compartment so you can also store your iPad or e-reader inside, protected and separate from your laptop. The crush-proof SafeZone held two pairs of sunglasses and my phone at the same time, and you can take out the internal rigid container if you want to just use more space inside the backpack and fore-go the SafeZone feature. The exterior pockets are useful for smaller items like cables, pens, etc. This backpack is only 20 liters though, keep this in mind because it will feel small on you compared to your giant school backpack, but it is more than capable as a laptop backpack or aircraft carry-on. The finish on the backpack beads water off nicely, I used it on the beach and sand and water weren't a problem. Classic Thule quality, I can't believe they will guarantee their stuff for 25 years!

    Travel made easy

I have the expensive leather messengers and totes and yet I prefer my Thule Backpack. My 15" MBP had become a heavy problem while hoofing it through airports but the Thule was the solution. I admit it's not the most stylish looking accessory but it is an amazingly functional piece. Seriously, if toting your MBP is an issue, this Thule will make it feel like a MB Air.

    One year after purchase

    • Written by from Camarillo

I have to agree with the majority of reviewers on here. I travel extensively for work, and my MacBook Pro and Thule back and me have travelled over 230,000 miles during the last 12 months! It's a great size and the protection pouch on the top for iPhone/iPod is perfect. The bag is still in great shape, but within a few months of extensive travels, and flights, the "Thule" lettering came off. Other than that, a great bag for hard and heavy use!

    You buy, You buy!

After sending back the incase bag I decided to try out the Thule. It blows away any nap sac / messenger bag I have ever owned (incase, crumpler, MEC). I love the comfort, look, construction and many pockets. One thing I really appreciate is built in hard case at the top. I wear perscription glasses and sunglasses and that case is perfect for them. If you are reading this and looking for a laptop bag, don't bother looking at the others, this is a no brainer!

This is the BEST backpack I have ever owned in 20+ years!

    • Written by from Naperville

I have owned dozens of computer backpacks from Incase to Targus and a dozen other brands and I can say by FAR that this is the best in durability, compartments, compactness, comfort and overall function!!!

In addition, I found that this is one of the only backpacks I could find for a 17" MacBook that still fits under even the smallest AIRPLANE seat. That is amazing. Roomy for lots of stuff but still configured to fit under even regional jet seats.

    Simply genius.

    Attractive, comfortable, apparently durable backpack!

    • Written by from Ashland

I have been using the Thule Crossover backpack for about two months now, and I am absolutely thrilled with the investment. Prior to the Thule, I'd used various briefcase-style cases, and the switch has been well worth it. My 17" MBP slides perfectly and quickly into the cushioned compartment and is a pleasure to tote around town. Even fully loaded, with the MBP, several books and all the fixings, the pack is comfortable for all-day wear, and looks sharp all the while.

While I don't know that the "crush proof" compartment is worthy of such a lofty title, it's certainly burly, and establishes its utility when used to store glasses, an ipod, fruit, and/or whatever you want to be sure to have easy access to.

The only trouble I've had so far is figuring out what to do with the power cable. There is not a great on board solution for this, but I get by with the cord in the smallest front pocket. A downside, but certainly offset by the bag's overall utility and construction.

I can't say enough about this bag. It's so comfortable, sharp, and easy to take along that I try to find excuses to take my MBP out on the town just to wear it. Seriously.

The quality, durability, and design features of this backpack are amazing. I have owned many backpacks before, but nothing like this. I would defiantly recommend; I think this is one of the best backpacks in the market today.

    Well Designed!!! Great Bag!!!

I was considering one of the more traditional "mac bags" by incase, but I decided to be a different - and, man, am I happy that I did. This bag is great!!! I've only ever known Thule for car racks and car roof containers, but it seems as if it wasn't that hard of a gap for them to bridge into bags. I look forward to see if they'll make other accessories, because I'm sure that those products will be well made and of great quality.

    One modification

This is a great backpack. It has room for lots of things. The one thing I would change is the chest straps. I love the idea but they need to be able to adjust more. For women with a larger chest the straps hit in a very awkward place. If they could be adjusted about an inch more both ways it would be five stars

    Wonderful addition to my MBP

    • Written by from Windsor

This pack has a closed cell foam lined sleeve that fits my 17 inch MBP perfectly. In addition there is room for my paperwork as well as all of my accessories, including my Bose headphones. This pack is very well constructed and I like the fact that it doesn't look like a computer case. Highly recommended.

    Excellent backpack

    • Written by from Berkeley

Very high quality and fairly light. The sunglasses and iphone/ipod area is a nice touch. Build quality is excellent, no need to regurgitate other people's reviews.

One thing is the water bottle area won't hold a Kleen Kanteen as pictured in the description. Maybe something larger...

    Great Quality & Versatile Backpack!!

    • Written by from Quezon City

I love this backpack --- material quality, construction, versatility. The SafeZone protects my sunglasses, camcorder, digital camera.... and is the place for my gadgets at airport security checks. The "elegant ruggedness" goes well with either casual or smart business attire.

    Great Backpack

This is what I'm talking about. This is a product that is actually worth $100. After unpacking and filling this thing up with all my stuff... (MacBook Pro, Avid Mbox 2 Pro, etc...) it holds up and looks great doing it. So far no problems and is impressive right out of the gate.
