Best AnswerPress and release the button on the right side of the unit. If the green light on top lights up, it's on. Further information can be found in the included instruction manual.

Will it clip onto the right or left end of a keyboard, to make a one-piece input device?
I currently use an Apple wireless keyboard and mouse with a Mac mini in my multimedia system, and find that the mouse is always rolling to where it doesn't belong. It would be very cool if I could attach a keyboard and trackpad as s single unit that always stayed together.

Best AnswerYou can place the the TrackPad flush against either side of the latest wireless keyboard and it fits perfectly and looks as though it is one piece, providing a perfect "cosmetic" match. But it cannot be clipped physically attached.

Will two track pads working on two different computers in the same room interfere with each other?
My husband and I would both like to upgrade to the new Lion operating system, but our desktop computer keyboards do not have track pads built into them. If we were to buy two of these new Magic trackpads, would they interfere with each other when we were both using our computers at the same time? (Computers are side by side....)

Best AnswerWill work fine.
Once each computer has a trackpad paired to it (pair them one at a time),
You might consider:
-Open SysPrefs/Bluetooth
-click Magic Trackpad in left hand column
-click on gear icon at bottom of left hand column, select show more info
-click on gear icon at bottom of left hand column, select Add to Favorites
-click on gear icon at bottom of left hand column, Rename, change name of Magic Trackpad to something unique for each computer
This should prevent one computer from stealing the other's Trackpad when its Trackpad batteries die.
Also, tape a label to the bottom of one.- Answered by Chris S from San Jose

Sleep vs Power Button--how to choose?
I know my trackpad goes to sleep when the computer does. I'm wondering about getting maximum battery life--when to use the power button vs. just letting it sleep. I have seen answers advising power button use when the computer will be inactive for "an extended period", but does that mean hours, or days? If I were going on vacation I would use the power button, but what about overnight?

will the magic trackpad work with my mac running tiger
i have an older mac and limited computer abilities, do i have to upgrade my tiger to a leopard system or will the track pad work with the tiger
- Asked by Marc P from Haddonfield

Best AnswerYES, it does work with Tiger. I'm using it right now. It just doesn't work WELL. None of the touch features work - you have you use it as a regular mouse. And so far I've found scrolling to be a ver frustrating task.

Is there a Button 3/Scroll Ball feature?
Will this Magic Trackpad work with CAD/3D Modeling apps to provide Orbit and Zoom In/Out functionality, same as the Button 3/Scroll-ball with standard mouse? This is why I had to return the Magic Mouse. Being able to quickly orbit about models and zoom in/out with the middle button/track-ball instead of clicking on the tool is a major time saver and far easier to perform.

Best AnswerNot as such, out of the box. However, one can use third-party software (I use BetterTouchTool) and customize any and all gestures, including defining new gestures for personal use.

Can it be configured for right click?
- Asked by Herbert G from Melbourne
- 27/07/2010

Best AnswerYes. You can set it up so that a 2 finger click registers a right click. And Apple says that this is just like a MacBook Pro trackpad, so presumably it should also register a right click when you click in the lower right corner.

Can it take a stylus?
I'm looking for something that could be used to hand-write Chinese characters. And using a stylus in art programs would be very cool, too. Is that possible?

Do the multi-touch features of the Magic Trackpad work on older MacBook models?
I have a Late 2007 MacBook (3,1) and I've always been interested in the multi-touch gestures featured in the later models, such as using 3 and 4-finger dragging or inertia scrolling, and my interest has risen even greater with the prominent use of them in OS X Lion. So I was wondering whether it is possible to use these multi-touch gestures if I bought a Magic Trackpad. Would these 3 and 4 finger gestures now work with my MacBook using the Magic Trackpad, or is it just impossible to access these functions without upgrading to a later Mac model? I have 10.6.6 currently, so I assume that I already have that Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0 installed. Thanks in advance.

Does the Magic Trackpad sit at the same angle as the WIRED Apple Keyboard with numeric keypad?
I have seen in several places that the Magic Trackpad sits at exactly the same angle as the bluetooth keyboard but does it sit at exactly the same angle as the wired keyboard? By implication I suspect it doesn't as the wired keyboard doesn't have a battery compartment and if it were at the same angle I suspect Apple would mention it.

Can you use the Magic trackpad as a substitute for a mouse or is it recommended to be used with a mouse?

Best AnswerUse it without a mouse. I like using my trackpad on my MBP better than a mouse. Now I can have the magic trackpad as an external pad for us with my home theater computer, etc.

Best Answer
No - the trackpad operates by using Bluetooth (used for devices like mobile phones, keyboards and mice operating over a small range), not WiFi (used for wireless internet connections). If the trackpad had WiFi it would likely be much more difficult to set up and work less reliably.
