It is very accurate but you need to calibrate it first before you begin using it. If you're on a treadmill it senses differently than the road. The calibration only takes a couple of minutes and a quarter mile.

Is the Nike+iPod kit dedicated to one iPod; we've several Shuffles (of all generations), couple Classics and one 2nd generation Nano?
Before I get the Nike+iPod kit, I wanted to know if it has to be dedicated to a particular ipod or if it can be mixed with any of the bunch provided you use the sensor and receiver when you go out for the walk/jog/run. One kit or more?

With a Touch you don't need the reciever. I justed wated the extra bucks because the web site and the local Apple Store people told be I needed the sport pack. Just buy the reciever, go to setting and turn on the Nike + application. Self explanatory from there.
