Does the apple tv play a full HD picture provided by the device (iPad, iPhone) on the HDTV, or will the picture have the black bars on the side?

AnswerIt mirrors exactly what you see on your device onto the TV screen. If your movie is playing with black bars on either side, it is inherent to the file itself.

Apple TV Streaming Content
I'm in New Zealand and I see on the Apple. com/nz site that it says about Apple TV: "You can even rent or buy from thousands of movies and buy from thousands of TV episodes in top-quality 1080p from the iTunes store."
Is that correct?
I have a suspcion that most content is rights resyricted to North America - if so then if as a consumer I buy Apple TV and then find that this statement is not true is that a breech of my consumer rights? Is it false/misleading advertising?
Can anyone advise on this?
Thanks- Asked by Richard S

AnswerWhat is available on the Apple TV is iTunes Country dependent. Whatever is on the iTunes Store for New Zealand is what will be available for streaming or purchasing on the Apple TV, as it connects to the iTunes Store for all purchases and renting.

AnswerYes, although it depends on what service you used to buy them. If you used iTunes you can get them on Apple TV through iCloud, through AirPlay from a compatible device, or by having your library open on your computer and selecting "Computers" on the Apple TV.

what is the difference between renting a buying a movie on apple tv?
- Asked by Avinash K

Best AnswerWhen you rent a movie you have 48 hours to watch it, from the time you begin to watch it. You can watch it repeatedly in that 48 hour period. It is streamed over the Internet.
When you buy a movie, you can download it to a computer in your home via iTunes and store it there, or store it in iCloud, and watch it as many times as you wish. If you download to a computer in your house, you will need to have that computer turned on and "Homesharing" on to stream it from your computer to the Apple TV, if you store it in iCloud, it is streamed over the Internet, if you watch it more than once this could eat up a good chunk of your monthly allotment with your ISP.- Answered by Murray S from Odessa

can I connect apple tv to stereo for listening iTunes music

AnswerSure you can and with the right system it works brilliantly. I have the digital optical output of Apple TV connected into my Marantz NA7004 Network Streamer which I then use as a DAC feeding my Marantz Pearl Lite stereo amplifier. This gives me absolutely the best sound. I can then stream my music via Airplay from iTunes on my PCs and Macs, iphones and ipads as I choose. Even better I use iTunes Match service which works brilliantly across all devices provided you have a decent Internet connection and a good wifi router to avoid dropout and other hiccups.
