wireless sound apple tv for movies
Hello all,
I am not pretty sure if I can do this. Would it be possible to connect my apple TV instead of a TV to a projector by an HDMI cable and send the sound wirelessly to my airport express that is connected to a sound system? I would be watching the image by the projector and the sound in my sound system trough the airport express. I want to see movies from itunes and netflix using that method, is that possible?

Can I use Apple TV with Hughesnet?
I have a business account with hughesnet so the speeds are much faster than with regular hughesnet. I was just curious if I could use this device with a satellite connection.

AnswerYou could connect Apple TV to a receiver, but you would not be able to connect it directly to an amp because you would not have access to the GUI. Our Apple TV is connected to our downstairs surround sound, and we stream music to it from the iMac upstairs. I am sure the same would work with a laptop.

AnswerIf you want Netflix etc, then yes you'll need the world wide webs.
If you already have media on your laptop in iTunes and want to play it on TV, it's a snap.
Just make sure you have Home Sharing turned on both machines with your same Apple ID and the media will show up over your network on TV.
Make sure your machines are on the same network (either Airport or hard wired CAT 5) and your ATV is plugged into your TV with an HDMI cable and you should be good.- Answered by Frank W from Somis

Best Answeryes i have done it to my benq monitor and it works also if your monitor doesn't have a hdmi u can use a Kanex ATV Pro Airplay Mirroring For VGA Projector Cable which is in online apple store under mac and cables if you scroll down okay.

AnswerThis would be great as a gift. The thing is though it actually streams the content from your iTunes wirelessly from a pc to the tv connected to the Apple TV by hdmi cable. So a PC with a wireless network is a must to use it.

AnswerNope, it comes with a remote! iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch can also run it and can use AirPlay, which enhances the usefulness of Apple TV, but are not necessary. Lots of people use the Apple TV as a streaming device for Netflix, etc.
