I recently purchased the exact usb cable as pictured, but it doesnt work for the iphone 3g, just the ipods? is there a different cable for the iphone

I have another usb cable, but the plug where you connect it to the Apple device is larger than the pictured one, and there are 2 levers on the side that allows you to retract the hooks, and that one works on all Apple devices.

I have an iPhone 3GS and none of my old genuine Apple cables, which worked with my Touch will work. Are the pins different?

The device end plug looks identical to the one in the 3GS box but absolutely will not work so I want to sell them but need to know if they work with an iPhone 3G. Thanks

will this lead allow audio playback via the front USB on my JVC KW-XG701 Car Audio System?

Bluetooth Playback is "Lumpy" at best, although the vioce dialling and calling support via Bluetooth is superb. I'm looking for a wired alternative to the Audio Bluetooth playback. The port on the front of my JVC KW-XG701 Car Head Unit will charge my iPhone 4, but as yet, I have not found a way of simply plugging into the USB port and playing stored music via USB.
This feature works perfectly on iPod / iPhone Docking Stations??
Any help would be great!

My iPhone is in an Otter case. I'd like to dock it into a speaker system but the dock and case don't allow a fit. Is there an extension cable?

Is this cable of better quality than the standard one that came with my iPhone? The one that came with my iPhone is falling apart.

My Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable that came with my iPhone is falling apart and it's less than a year old. The plastic casing around the wire leading into the dock connector is peeling in strips and the wires are exposed. I just want to know if the cable I'm interesting in purchasing is of better quality than the standard one that came with my iPhone. Seems like there was a bad batch!
