Is there an apple software that is comparable and compatible to microsoft office professional?

For most purposes iWork, in combination with a good database manager (like the options provided when purchasing a new Mac) & Mail, will be equal in capability & compatibility to the full MS Office suite.

Certainly more than enough for the administrative & logistical purposes of any company who's business isn't specifically content-creation activities (e.g. journalism or advertising), in which case there are some Apple & many other 3rd-party Mac Apps better for those purposes than any general productivity suite.
