How would I hook up an HDMI TV to a new iMac with Thunder bolt?

Thunderbolt is backward compatible with DisplayPort, so just use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable or a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable to connect the two.
