Can you operate the nano when it is in the case? Volume up & down? Touch screen controls?

I want to clip it, protect it but still be able to quickly pause the music and then turn it back on quickly.

    There are nubs on the side that allow you to press the sleep and volume buttons while it's in the case. The touchscreen is directly usable while in the case.
