I have an iMac 10.6.8 and a MacBookPro 10.6.8. Can I purchase 1 upgrade and download on both machines

Do I need to upgrade to a later version Snow Leopard before upgrading to Mountain Lion? Also can the purchase of 1 upgrade be downloaded on 2 machines? Both my iMac and MacBookPro are 10.6.8. Thanks.

10.6.8 is the most up to date version of Snow Leopard so you are ready to upgrade to Mountain Lion.

As with any software you buy in the Mac App Store, you are allowed to install Mountain Lion on any Mac that you own. After purchasing Mountain Lion on one of your Macs, open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and go to Purchases. You should see Mountain Lion listed as an available download there too.
