Can I use to connect an external hard disk via USB to my network (using ethernet)?
I have an external hard-disk that i want to share via WI-FI with my Macbook. The hard-disk doesn't have an ethernet port, but it has a USB port. Could I use this adapter to connect my external hard-disk to my router (which only has ethernet ports)? Will my Macbook find it in the network? Thanks!

No, this device is designed to connect a computer to a network through ethernet, it does not have the smarts to share an external hard disk on the network. The USB plug is also most likely the wrong kind to connect to the external hard drive.

Apple's Airport Extreme includes a USB port. If you attach a hard drive to the Airport Extreme, the drive will be available over WiFi to your Macbook.
