Do Apple have a separate numeric keypad, wireless or USB

The new ultrathin wireless keyboard is fantastic to use, but it would be great if it had a numeric keypad at the end. I've bought a couple of so-called MAC osx compatible usb keypads but my iMac will not recognise them. It's frustrating to say the least

    No, Apple does not carry a stand alone number pad. Some third-party retailers carry them, but Apple doesn't guarantee that they work with their computers, which is why none of them are on their website.

  • Yes - Apple sells a wireless keypad, which also acts as a calculator. I don't particularly like mine, and I'm seriously considering buying a wired keyboard with the numeric keypad extension. I dislike the separate numeric wireless keypad because it automatically goes into sleep mode after a few minutes of disuse - and I find it difficult to wake it back up to use... I find myself not wanting to bother with the keypad because of this. Also - I had a very hard time getting my iMac to recognize the numeric keypad - I took my system into the Apple store and the tech person struggled for quite some time before she got it to work.

  • Yes. It's called the Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. It's got a USB wire and is available online or at the Apple Store.
