Answer
When you dock your iPhone on the iFusion, it charges the iPhone. There is one thing to note - when the iFusion is connected to your computer via USB (for synching of the iPhone) it will charge the iPhone at the rate of the USB charger. When the iFusion is just plugged into power and not to USB, it will charge the iPhone at the rate of a regular wall charger which is about 2x as fast as USB.

When the iPhone is docked on the iFusion, charging is provided via the integrated 30-pin connector.
