Why does my iPad not work in a car
Why can I not access the Internet in a car or in a place without wifi

It depends on which model if Ipad you have and probably the type of car too. I have a 1st gen Ipad with Wi-Fi and 3g. I have never bothered purchase a sim card so I can't use the 3g yet TOM TOM works perfectly in my car. Obviously I don't have any Internet access unless I'm sat next to a free Wi-Fi hotspot but I can use my Iphone as a Wi-Fi hotspot if I really need to get online.
