Is iChat only accessible on apple products. Ipad, Mac,etc.

Is it possible to use the iChat platform to message someone who does not have an apple Product. Pc, Mac,Ipad etc.

    iMessage (the new version of iChat) is only supported on apple devices. Currently there is no app for PCs or Android devices that can support iMessages. However, there are other services, like google talk or other chatting services, that have apps for Apple, Android, and other devices, respectively.
