Worst piece of iPhone kit ever made

    • Written by from Helston

69+ pounds and it's the biggest waste of money ever. Firstly the clear scan function isn't that clear but the biggest issue was that the swanneck part of the unit won't stay up right and kept spinning round and falling over onto the gear stick. To be fair this wasn't the fault of the product more the car manufacturer but it is a standard lighter socket. Trying to remove the device in order to move it to another vehicle and it pulled the socket out of the dashboard. Basically not worth the money and I will be trying to get a refund. More

    FM connection rubbish

    • Written by

This product should have been the answer to my in-car conectivity needs, but it isn't. The FM connection is not good it gives appalling sound quality. The sound quality on calls is good in car, but
people have told me that they find it hard to hear calls made from it. I have consulted the instructions and followed them but with no improvements! I could not recommend this product.

    Nice idea poorly executed

    • Written by from WITNEY

I want to play iPod music in my car. Good idea. But this is not the answer for three reasons:

    1. The device does not hold the iPod securely, revolving around in the lighter socket and falling on the floor of my Land Rover whenever I go round even moderate corners. It was nice and tight for the first week but soon gave up its grip on the lighter socket. Not good.

    2. The FM scanner has yet to find an interference-free frequency. Even when I tune manually there is a high degree of interference or high-pitched whining which becomes very tiring after a few songs.

    3. The connectivity is clunky. You need to clamp the iPod into the unit and then attach a plug into the headphone socket. Why? It's unnecessary and messy.

Save your money. There must be better solutions than this.

Terrible. Awful. Give me my money back.

    • Written by from Kensington

Terrible construction. The part which plugs into the cigarette lighter gets loose and wobbles all over the place. Terrible sound quality as a phone, not so bad as an in-car iPod player. Microphone creates echo on the other side. Don't buy it. More

    really needs to be improved

    • Written by from Penrith

i brought this product and 2 months later it will not stay in my car lighter holder it moves around way to much and the sad part is for the price i would expect alot better! I do like the fact i can listen to music and the calls come through my speakers but cannot justify trying to argue with someone at belkin who said that it isnt a warranty problem yet when i read reviews alot of people have had the same issue so now cannot justify paying another $150 for the same product just for it to be possible useless in 2 months time More

    Absolute rubbish!!

    • Written by from BELMONT

This product has clearly not been quality researched, the plug is never tight enough causing the phone to just falls over, using the adapter is useless. The problem that seems obvious to me is that these in car power sockets simply aren't able to hold something firmly in an upright position because they weren't designed to do so. 99% of the time the unit wouldn't recognise my iphone 4 and it just flopped around falling over constantly. Seriously, doesn't Belkin test their products! Overpriced & a waste of time, definitely avoid this type of design. I've certainly also lost faith in this FM transmitter technology.

This model can do both, FM transmit to you in car radio or hook up using an AUX jack.
There is a separate model has no FM transmitter option.

The device has a little stereo cable hanging out of it so that you can plug it into the headphone jack of your phone. That cable then leads to the devices internal FM transmitter which will send it out to your card radio. Conversely, you can simply hook up an iPhone compatible stereo cable and have it go from your iPhone's headset jack to your car's AUX input directly. This is the highest end model that Belkin offers for the iPhone.

Yes, with an ever so slight mod to the Belkin adapter. The plastic at the point where it inserts into the bottom of the Otterbox Case / iPhone is a BIT wide for the Otterbox. I took a Dremel tool, with the sanding attachment, and buffed the sides of the Belkin A BIT, and it fits in perfectly. More
