Stunning desktop audio from movies, music or games on your Mac and iPod.
Enjoy a significant upgrade in sound and style from the speakers that came with your computer. Companion® 2 speakers deliver both the subtleties in your music and the rousing resonance of movie and game sound effects. Think of them as giving new voice to your computer. And with Bose TrueSpace® stereo signal processing, that voice really has some reach. Experience a spacious, dramatic soundstage that seems to extend beyond the desktop speakers--whether you've set them next to your monitor or placed them farther apart. You'll also appreciate the clear, robust response for those challenging low musical notes and sound effects.
These sleek and compact speakers fit easily in their surroundings to save valuable desktop space. Dual inputs make it a snap to connect your computer and portable audio sources at the same time. Both volume and the headphone jack reside on the front of one speaker to provide easy control over your listening experience.

How do you hook up the bose companion 2 series ll to a mac ?
- Asked by Mark S
- 10/10/2009
Best Answer
The one I bought included a cable which plugs into the headphone socket on an iMac and into the back of the speakers. (If you want to listen to headphones there's a headphone socket on the front of one of the speakers.) So it's all in the box already. …More

Would these speakers be good to plug into a MacBook Air and move around different rooms to listen to music on?
- Asked by Megan R from Calgary
- 29/11/2012
Answer
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that, but if you mean going into different rooms and trying to take the speakers with you that wouldn't work as they need to be plugged into a powerpoint, and don't take batteries. If you mean leaving them in one room whilst you go into another, sure that'll work. They sound great, even at their highest volume, so long as you are listening to decent quality audio. …More

- Asked by Pam R from Robina
- 21/10/2011
Answer
The cable that came with mine is just under 1 metre. I was pretty unimpressed with the quality of the lead that they came with so would recommend replacing it. At least it comes with something so you can start playing music out of the box. …More

Can these be plugged into a airport extreme to be used with Airplay?
- Asked by Robert C from New York
- 29/11/2010
Answer
Yes, just like any speakers.
I have this set up at home and works great, for connecting Mac and iPhone. It also has another input at the back if you wanted to leave a cable there for a device that doesn't support AirPlay. On Mac I've only found iTunes to support AirPlay (many apps on iPhone) but there are a few Applications you can download to send all of your Macs audio to AirPlay Speakers, I use Porthole. …More- Answered by Sam C from Melbourne
