Enjoy a significant upgrade in sound and style from the speakers that came with your computer. Amazing sound for tiny speakers, great aesthetics

    • Written by from Madison

I bought these to replace a set of JBL Creature II speakers since I was unable to find a good place to nestle the subwoofer unit, and was thrilled to find that the Bose actually sound better without needing one. The fact that their design perfectly complement my Power Mac G5 and Cinema Display HD is icing on the cake. They feel solid and sturdy, too, and I appreciate a physical volume knob and easily accessible headphone jack.

This is one of those rare cases when I am much happier with a purchase than I expected.

    Very Pleased

The range this set is capable of can only be described as total. Adjusting the equalizer for each type of music brings out every musical and voice nuance and the bass has a felt presence that rivals the more expensive Bose systems. I am hearing things I never heard before from the music stored on my computer. Cranking it all the way up is far too much sound for my 24x30 painting studio and office. Even when it's too loud, I carefully listened for distortion. Still very clear all the way through the full sonic range.
The speakers work very well for music from the 50s, the 60s, up til present, from Classical to the Killers. Again, adjusting the Equalizer brings it all out.

Great sound for discreet speaker. Slight hum when not playing.

    • Written by from Castlemaine

We've had these airport-novel-size speakers for a year now, and they certainly look better on our bookshelf than a John Grisham and more pleasant on the ears!

They are a smart discreet mono-colour design with one simple dial for volume/on/off against a full-face slightly rounded grill pierced with tiny holes. The front panel tilts back to make an impression that they are casting sound across the room; and in fact they are subtly directional. Their full rich sound fills a large space; excellent bass and bell-like treble for the full range of instruments of classical music, jazz and opera...not sure about rock or heavy metal as I never play any. Probably not as they are not their best at full volume as they are so small, so the max listenable setting is midway to 3/4 position on the dial.

We have recently teamed them up with wireless speaker adaptor. This makes playing music off Spotify off the iPad (version one) and other devices much easier and the speakers perform faultlessly through the connection. The only minus is that they issue a low hum when switched on but not playing, regardless of connection setup, however I cannot detect this hum during quiet passages, so perhaps it is an artefact of there being no input?

    Otherwise, a 5 star product.

    Not That Great but OK

    • Written by from airdrie

Purchased these today, i have many other Bose products and assumed that these would be as good. They are OK but do not sound as good as the Demo unit at the store, definitely missing the sound of Bass unless i am missing something!!!

Was looking for a sound-bar speaker instead, but came home with these, not too sure if i will keep them yet......

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that, but if you mean going into different rooms and trying to take the speakers with you that wouldn't work as they need to be plugged into a powerpoint, and don't take batteries. If you mean leaving them in one room whilst you go into another, sure that'll work. They sound great, even at their highest volume, so long as you are listening to decent quality audio. More

    Answer

The cable that came with mine is just under 1 metre. I was pretty unimpressed with the quality of the lead that they came with so would recommend replacing it. At least it comes with something so you can start playing music out of the box. More

    Yes, just like any speakers.
I have this set up at home and works great, for connecting Mac and iPhone. It also has another input at the back if you wanted to leave a cable there for a device that doesn't support AirPlay. On Mac I've only found iTunes to support AirPlay (many apps on iPhone) but there are a few Applications you can download to send all of your Macs audio to AirPlay Speakers, I use Porthole. More
