The smart cover does what it says. It aligns perfect every time and makes a very handy stand whenever you need one. Keeps the scre en clean as well however, the smart cover has damaged my iPad 2 on the side the magnet sticks to. It has left it scratched and ugly. If I had known it would do that, I would have bought another case or something that wouldn't damage the product. …

Sleep or wake up?
When I first got this cover it would put my iPad2 to sleep and when I lifted the cover it would wake up. This only lasted a coupl e of days. Now I manually have to do it. Very disappointed in the product for what I paid. :( …

Bad Case
I got this case in pink and it gets so dirty so fast. It does not protect the back part at all which is what I see getting marked also. I would recommend getting a case that slides in and out like a pocket to protect it if you plan to carry it in a bag because it gets scratched easily. The case does NOT clean the screen as well as it claims to. …

No protection, but small
This is not a protective case at all. The metal on the side of the iPad leaves marks. I would definitely recommend the smartCOVER over the smartCASE,because that is almost just as slim, but way more protective. …

Caution! Virtually NO protection
Sure, this covers your iPad screen, but if and when you drop it, your iPad could be toast.
I also found the magnetic connector s to not be substantial enough to resist coming off when holding with one hand.

Works great, what is wrong with you?
Negative reviews seem to balk at how the cover falls off before the owner drops it and cracks the screen. Treat the iPad like it' s an electronic device and transport it carefully. If you want a minimalist cover that works great to protect your screen and hold the device in various positions, then this is perfect. I also like the way when one opens the cover the iPad wakes. People that are klutzes should spend $50 more and buy an Otterbox. …

As a cardiac nurse I do believe the magnets that are used to activate or deactivate a pacemaker/defi brilator are a different type of magnet than those that would be easily purchased in a store. Furthermore the magnets on this case are too low of a quality to do any damage. One of the Cardiologists that comes to the hospital has one of these and he takes it into pts rooms, some of who have pacemakers, and it hasn't interferred with the pacemaker or our telemetry so far. But if you are still worried, don't go around with it laying on your chest. …

There is not a cover but there is a case that does pretty much the same thing. Just make sure if you get the case that you do not buy the smart case because that will not work with the original iPad. …
