Features

With the iPad Camera Connection Kit, it's incredibly easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.

The kit includes two connectors, each with a different interface:

  • The Camera Connector features a USB interface. Just plug it into the dock connector port on your iPad, then attach your digital camera or iPhone using a USB cable (not included). iPhone 3G is not supported.
  • Use the SD Card Reader to import photos and videos directly from your camera's SD card. Connect it to your iPad, then insert your digital camera's SD card into the slot.

After you make the connection, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organises them into albums. When you sync iPad to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library.

The USB will work with many things, not just a camera!

    • Written by from COEUR D' ALENE

Things that I found out that you can plug in to the USB connection are USB headphones and USB headsets, USB keyboards and probably more things. If you buy the package, it comes with two different products, one for a USB connection, and another for an SD card. Also, you can plug any iPhone to the USB port and get your photos off of the iPhone so you can view them on your iPad! This is a very nice product and nothing I would change. If you email the photos with the Mail app on the iPad, they are in 2048x1536 resolution rather than the iPhone's 800x600 emailed resolution. One last thing, once you connect to your Mac, iPhoto brings in full resolution images with EXIF information intact. Great job Apple! The iPad now has a USB port! More

    great!

The first connector (30 pin of course) features a USB port allowing you to connect up either your digital camera or iPhone direct to the iPad. When connected an application automatically loads up displaying thumbs of images that are available on the camera or iPhone to download. You can then select what you want to copy over. Images are then synced with your PC or Mac is required.

The next connector is almost the same but instead of connecting the camera direct to the iPad it features an SD card slot allowing images to be read directly from the memory card containing pictures. The same app (Photos) is opened up and the same interface.

    Useful Little Thing

    • Written by from Albuquerque

This is a wonderful little addition to my iPad accessory collection.

Picked it up at my local Apple store.

I am so happy now as I can very easily transfer photos from my digital camera directly or by putting the SD memory card into the slot. This is VERY handy when you travel.

Thanks Apple for another great product for our magical iPads !

    Great but...

    • Written by from swans island

I got the CCK with my iPad 2, I used it to download photos from my SD card, iPhone and from my camera, it worked great, I was so pleased with it until I went to download more pictures, it won't recognize that it is plugged in with anything now. However, I believe this is a problem with something that has possibly changed on my iPad and not the fault of the CCK. I still haven't found the problem yet though. More

    Sandisk ultra 64GB problems

    • Written by from Mullumbimby

The 64GB Sandisk works in my Sony DSC-RX100 camera. It also works downloading to my computer. My computer can down load photos to my ipad using itunes and/or sincios (download for free). However it does not work direct from the camera to the ipad, using the camera connection kit CCK. Neither does it work using the CCK SD memory card connector.Bought a 8GB other brand SD memory card. Problem fixed, both direct SD connection and the camara connection now works. More

Great Little Addition for my Ipad 2

    • Written by from Bethel

I read all the other review and figured I wasn't going to bother getting this considering all the negativity I was reading on how it didn't work with OS above 4.1. So i figured I'll go pick one up and give it a try, if it fails I'll return it.
Well it worked great with a older model Nikon DSLR D-200. I hook everything up from camera to I Pad the turned power on the camera and within 5 minutes all the images appeared on the IPad. 303 images. Great investment. one note Make sure you camera support PTP transfers for USB.
