Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone
If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slide shows and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a play list, slide show or video. Then sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.
The Apple Remote requires the iPod Universal Dock and any iPod with a dock connector, or any iPhone.
Apple Remote with Mac
The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It works with Front Row - a menu-based, full-screen interface - to make accessing the digital content on your Mac as simple as navigating your iPod. When you press the Menu button, your desktop fades and the sleek, Front Row interface takes its place, to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Videos folder and your DVDs. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slide show, a home video that you made in iMovie, even a film trailer.
Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver.

I was disapointed when i bought this wonderful remote and tried to put it on the side of my iMac like i did for my old ine. Wrong first of all the back surface is not flat its curvedd for design which doesnt have enough surface area to stick to the side of the imac.Later I tried sticking a stronger extrenal magnet to it and fould out its not magnetic at all. I thought it was magnetic.Overall it's a great remote and i like the ipod click wheel volume control too! …More

Apple remote is great to use.
Written by PJ from WALTON-ON-THAMES

The new Apple Remote is bigger than the previous remote, but it is also better. Indeed, it fits easily into my hand and works like a dream. I use the remote in the region of 5 hours per day for PowerPoint/Keynote lectures. Seems to operate more smoothly than the previous all-white remote. The new Apple Remote is also a real style icon, in alloy silver and black. …More

Very happy.

I'd recommend this to anyone who's a bit of a gadget nut.
I underestimated just how small and dainty the design is.
I bought it simply because it was an accessory but the menu button activates Front Row so using this to play video etc. is a lot easier and simpler than I thought. …MoreWas this useful?

The extra button makes Apple TV easier to use
Written by KH from Jupiter

I like the extra play/pause button - you can just click play when you hover over an artist, genre or whatever without having to dig deeper into your selection.
Physically the remote feels really nice to the touch, is a good shape and size, and is harder to lose on white bed linen!
Nice job Apple! …More10 of 10 people found this useful
