iLife '09 A Must Have - Loads of Enhancements

    Written by EC from Stockbridge

    9/02/2009

I used iLife '08 and recently purchased iLife '09 Family Pack and it's an awesome enhancement. iMovie has added loads of new transitions, themes and post edit stabilization. iPhoto has facial recognition and awesome new slideshows. Haven't gotten into all of it yet but best upgrade I've made in years. Lots of value. More

iPhoto upgrade is worth it on its own. I love the new FACES and LOCATIONS feature. It is great to tag people. This makes it simple to upload pics to FACEBOOK and the photos are already tagged. More

    Worth the upgrade

    Written by LC from Dexter

    4/05/2009

I mostly use the iPhoto and iMovie applications, and I have found the upgrade to be worth the cost (I've been using iLife 08 for a year and a half prior to).
For iMovie, I especially appreciate the fast forward/slow motion features. The map tool and video effects are also wonderful. I had been hoping for these features, and Apple read my mind once again. Also, now you can edit your video quality in the same way you've been editing your photos in iPhoto (edit saturation, exposure, etc . . .).
In iPhoto, I had been hoping for more ways to organize my photos. I have so many events set up, it's irritating to search through. Faces and Places really does a nice job of this.

    ILife Rocks

Written by CG from Sun Lakes

    12/04/2009

This update is worth the $$ just for the iPhoto changes. I have hundreds of family photos and the ability to sort them by person with facial recognition is outstanding. What a great help when I order an Apple book (using the iPhoto icon) for a Mother's Day gift. Keep going Apple - the ongoing improvements are awesome. More

The only upgrade for iPhoto 08 is the updates released though the update software installer. To see if you have the latest iPhoto 08 version do the following

Step 1: Click the Apple logo in top left
    Step 2: Click Software Update...

It will then do a system software update just follow the commands.

Please note I do not work for Apple but I believe that there is NO free upgrade to iLife 09 or iPhoto 09 since is it part of iLife 09.

Apple however will continue to release patches and improvements to iPhoto 08 until they fell the need to ask you to upgrade.

iLife 09 while it maybe 79$US which is around 100$AU it is a great investment for anyone that does not have iLife already, users that have iLife 08 should stay on the version until they feel they have the money to upgrade.

As I say it is not something you need it is something you would like.

    Hope that answers your question.

You can use the standard iLife '08, but I'm not sure about '07 or earlier.
On iLife '08 click 'View' at the top, and the 'Show in Toolbar' in the drop down box, and then 'Burn'.
Make a folder/album with all the pictures you want to burn on to the disc, or just do a single album, and click burn in the bottom right.

    Hope this help.
