And the 10 GB of cloud storage that comes with it is a great extra that gives me capabilities (like sharing files while I'm on the road) without the additional cost. …

It's the right size, both externally - small enough to fit into a small pocket of my laptop case and storage-wise. I'm loving the look as well. Probably the best feature, though, is the USB 3 speed - backups are taking a fraction of the time they used to and transferring data is so easy now.. …

IMPRESSIVE SLEEK DESIGN & ENGINEERING

It is housed in a clean matt steel case that feels robust & tough.
A beautiful discreet led white light illuminates on one corner indicating that the drive is operating & connected, it only comes on when it is functioning.
The USB 3 connection is very fast & I am using this 2TB drive to store my movies , u-tube presentations & my I-TUNES music files.
The drive comes pre-loaded with MAC combatible software & it is ready to go as soon as you plug it in to your computer.
I highly recommend this portable drive you will be impressed when you see it for the first time & start using it .
Sadly LaCie missed an opportunity to continue with the style & design of this product by not providing an elegant storage case to put the drive in when it is not in use & for carrying it safetly in your back pack or briefcase, a minor irratation that is an easy fix. ENJOY …

However, I have had terrible experiences with both drives. Specifically with mounting issues. Luckily for me, LaCie has been flexible with warranty repairs. However, if you are looking for a mobile backup, go with the Rugged design, sacrifice looks for functionality. I use both, Mac Mini and Dell. …

In other words, just Trash it first, each time. …
