Product Information

  • Overview

Compact and functional, the G-Tech G-Dock ev Thunderbolt provides flexible external storage for your Mac. Equipped with two USB 3.0 removable hard drives, this dual-bay storage solution allows any combination of G-Drive ev hard drives to be inserted and can be easily configured to focus on performance (RAID 0) or backup (RAID 1).

The USB 3.0 drives can be used on their own to save and transfer your content with ease and speed when you are on the move; the Thunderbolt technology enables the G-Dock to transfer data at up to 10 GB per second.

    About Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt is a revolutionary I/O technology that supports high-resolution displays and high-performance data devices via one simple port and a cable that carries both DisplayPort and PCI Express data. And it’s standard on every Mac.

PCI Express is the technology that links all the high-performance components in a Mac. And it’s built into Thunderbolt, which means you can get PCI Express speed outside the box.

Thunderbolt gives you up to 10 Gbps in both directions, allowing for super-fast data transfer between peripherals. You also have enough bandwidth to daisy-chain multiple high-speed devices without using a hub or switch.

Thunderbolt also provides double the power of USB 3.0, delivering 10 watts to peripherals for improved performance on the go.

For our money, it's the best way to move video projects between high-end, editing at work and, let's face it, polishing and rough-cutting on your laptop at home. Fast, light and super easy.

Our only complaint is that the 2TB drives are still nowhere to be seen, so your projects better fit on 1TB.
