The first time it would only stayed connect to my computer for a few minutes, never long enough to use. Two calls to the help number included in the package proved fruitless. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them, after 2 hours of trying myself -- no good. They even have the supervisor on the line. It wouldn't stay connected, so I returned it. A few weeks later I ordered another one. ( I dreamed of a wireless numeral keypad.) The second one never connected at all. So I returned it also. Neither one worked. Very disappointing. …

The bad reviews are NOT because of the bad instructions
The keypad worked for awhile but then stopped working. It still pairs but it doesn't stay connected.

Convenient addition to 2013 Mac Pro

The negative reviews were I bought this Belkin Bluetooth Numeric Pad at an Apple Store in Downtown Boston during a business trip. The negative reviews were very disconcerting; I anticipated poor performance with an inevitable return. Glad I bought it, despite all the less than favorable reviews!!
This Numeric Pad works beautifully on the 2013 Mac Pro!! Easy connection during initial set-up, and 100% successful operation! No disconnects or loss of signal. After a terrible Bluetooth performance issue from my trusty old 2006 Mac Pro, I totally get the complaints!! The 2013 Mac Pro Bluetooth is "perfect" on all devices, whereas the 2006 Mac Pro Bluetooth was horrid on all devices. The batteries in the Magic Mouse would last 5 days with the 2006. They last 30 to 60 days with the 2013.
My personal opinion is that your experience will be great or terrible, but nowhere in between, based on the Bluetooth performance of your connected computer. The more recent a model you own, with a newer Bluetooth version, the better!
On the 2013 Mac Pro, this Belkin Numeric Keypad is truly "Apple Like" and it simply does not ever miss a character. …

Got this out of the box today and it didn't pair automatically but I followed the instructions as per the post Written by Julian B Got this out of the box today and it didn't pair automatically but I followed the instructions as per the post Written by Julian B
19-Feb-2014. Thx Julian. And it's working beautifully.
I can imagine that without Julian's instructions it would've been super frustrating and I think that's why this product has got such bad reviews.
Julian mentions to hit the "continue" button when you get to the instruction about hitting the key to the left of the shift key. I hit the "enter" button on the key pad and it didn't work. So I hit it a few times more on the keypad and on my macbook air keyboard so I couldn't tell you which key finally unlocked the screen to get to the option to enter the US ANSI info but it worked.
It looks beautiful. It works super fast. The keys are a fraction less smooth and lovely than apple keyboard keys, but only a mere fraction of a difference.
Overall an excellent product and I'm super happy I chose to ignore all the negative reviews and buy it. …
