Built-in bass port
Some portable speakers produce less-than-impressive bass. Not the JBL Charge. It has a built-in bass port and generates bass that similar portable speakers simply can’t equal.
Full-range JBL sound
With two 1-5/8-inch (41-millimeter) JBL drivers and a 2 x 5-watt amplifier, the JBL Charge generates room-filling audio – impressive performance for a compact speaker that goes anywhere with you.
Versatile, portable design
The JBL Charge stereo speaker plays from either a vertical or horizontal position, so you can use it in a variety of locations. And it fits easily into a backpack, so you can take it from one place to the next.
Built for durability
With the JBL Charge speaker, strength isn’t limited to audio performance. From its rugged case and grille to the rubber end rings and a rubber cap for its USB port, the JBL Charge has the durability that your active lifestyle demands.
The JBL Charge’s clearly visible LED lets you know when its built-in battery needs to be recharged as well as when the speaker is in the Bluetooth listening or pairing mode.

I originally had the JBL Flip but sold it due to its unreliable bluetooth streaming and bought the JBL Charge instead. Its good to I originally had the JBL Flip but sold it due to its unreliable bluetooth streaming and bought the JBL Charge instead. Its good to see that JBL put a micro usb charging port on this speaker, one thing that really annoyed me about the Flip was the proprietery charging cable. The Charge has no issues streaming music via bluetooth and its range is quite good. Its audio quality and volume is on par with the Flip however it does have slightly more bass due to its slightly larger size and its highs are not as harsh when turned up loud. Like the Flip the Charge goes amazingly loud, easily loud enough to fill a room with sound. Where this speaker really shines is battery life, it just seems to keep going and going and the manufacturers claims of 12 hours playback is quite accurate. Add in the ability to charge your devices via usb and you have one amazing advice. I guess you could say the only slight downside is there is no speakerphone built in like the Flip. …
