Shift Premium Bluetooth Audio
Integrating a custom implementation of the native Bluetooth SBC codec, which JayBird calls Shift, BlueBuds X headphones deliver a level of purity and sound that rivals the best in wired headphones. A great feature of Shift is that it's pair and play, so nothing special is required on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, just standard Bluetooth.
PureSound white noise filtering
JayBird's on-board filtering system, called PureSound, filters out and eliminates white noise to give you a clean audio experience. This is especially helpful for long workouts when you've turned up the volume to motivate yourself.
Playtime to up to eight hours
BlueBuds X pack an impressive eight hours of playtime into a small design. And for convenience, it uses a standard micro-USB connector for charging and includes a battery status icon on screen for iPhone users.
Sports ear cushions hug into the top, back and lower surface areas of your ear – all essential for a secure fit during sports and fitness activities. JayBird's X-Fit design lets you use the headphones either in the traditional under-ear wearing style for music and calls or over-ear – completely free of any cord on your neck – so it feels like you don't have any headphones on.

JayBird Bluetooth Headphones
These headphones are incredible! I bought them to replace a pair of Motorola Bluetooth headphones that I bought on Amazon. I'm a These headphones are incredible! I bought them to replace a pair of Motorola Bluetooth headphones that I bought on Amazon. I'm an extremely heavy sweater and the Motorola's stopped working after only two weeks. I've had the JayBirds for almost a year and a half and they're still going strong!
First, they almost never fall out of your ear. I do a lot of Crossfit and the only time they start to come loose is when I'm jumping rope for an extended period of time. The "waffles" really help hold them in place.
Next, they stand up to excessive sweat extremely well. I'm in the Army and was deployed to the Middle East for the last eight months, through the summer months when the average temperature was over 120 degrees. And through that heat and my sweat, these headphones still work with zero issues.
They also work okay across a gym. I can set my iPhone down next to a rack and walk around the gym pretty freely without losing quality or the connection.
The only reason that I gave them four stars and not five is because there isn't a battery indicator on them. So you may end up losing music in the middle of your workout due to the battery dying. But honestly, that's more my problem than the headphones - I could have charged them every three or four days regardless of whether or not they needed to be charged.
I would definitely recommend these to someone looking for quality Bluetooth headphones. …

Very well done
I must own 30 sets of headphones. For running i've tried everything but i HATE the cord tangle that goes with all of them. i tri I must own 30 sets of headphones. For running i've tried everything but i HATE the cord tangle that goes with all of them. i tried a few bluetooth versions but they were not stable or didn't stay in the ear or gave pretty poor sound. These guys seemed to have nailed it!
Works well. Fits well (make sure you experiment to get the tips and the wings just right for you). It makes a big difference in the amount of sound that goes in (especially during activity).
Pleasantly surprised with them. Well done Jaybird! They took an extra year to come out but overall they seem well worth it. …

Best BlueTooth Headphone....ever!
I had 2 S9s and 2 S10HDs both died due to sweat. I HATE, HATE Wired headphone because I primarily use my headphone during workout I had 2 S9s and 2 S10HDs both died due to sweat. I HATE, HATE Wired headphone because I primarily use my headphone during workout sessions. This BlueBuds X is by far has the best sound, comfort & battery life. You have to try different ear piece to find what fits for you (takes me a day or two). The sound quality (deep base) rivals any wired headset and there is no 'wearing' fatigue like with other headphones. Most other headphones, I have to max out the volume, you won't have to with this one unless you want to go deaf. As an Electronic Engineer, I am quite impressed with how small the battery is for the 8 hrs of play time. The weight to battery life ratio is quite amazing.
I have iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0.1 and I have to DISABLE WIFI so that the music doesn't cutout for a second every so often. This is iOS 6 WiFi, BlueTooth problem and not the headphone's (have similar problem with Wireless Beats also). Google iOS 6 Bluetooth (or Wifi) problems for yourself and see. Come on! Apple you have got to fix this problem or this can turn to the 'iMap' fiasco I can see it now 'iPhone, iPad are great if you don't want to use BlueTooth features). Wireless Beats & BlueBuds work great on Android phones with out any problem so I am certain it's not the headphones. …

BlueBuds X - Power Issues

I got the I just wanted to refute the reviews saying that the headphones won't connect to the iPhone 6. This is absolutely wrong. I got the iPhone 6 on release day and connected my headphones to it, literally minutes after the purchase. They work great! I would suggest that the people saying they don't work on the new devices did not pair them correctly. I have had absolutely no issue connecting these headphones to a multitude of devices. The only issue I've had is with the power. After using the BlueBuds for about 9 months, they have started having issues powering on. No matter how long I hold the power button, they won't power up, even though they are fully charged. A few times, my issue was resolved by simply connecting them to the charging cord for a minute or two and then disconnecting and powering them up. This would seem to "reset" them and they would power on normally until the next time they had to be charged. Unfortunately, this method is no longer working either. The LED charge indicator light immediately turns green when I plug them in. This indicates that the headphones think that they are fully charged even though they are not, and seems to be preventing them from "resetting" as they were before. I did some googling after this happened, and it seems to be a very common issue. Jaybird customer service is supposed to be good with resolutions, so I'm going to contact them about it. Aside from the power issue, I absolutely love these headphones. The sound quality is outstanding, the functionality is excellent, and not having to deal with a cord is incredibly convenient. …

OK but expensive
I bought the Blue Buds X to use as gym headphones. They were my first Bluetooth product, and I've followed that purchase with a JA I bought the Blue Buds X to use as gym headphones. They were my first Bluetooth product, and I've followed that purchase with a JAM Rewind BT speaker and a Plantronics M50 earpiece.
First of all, the Blue Buds are very well designed and Jaybird supplies you with plenty of eartips and winglets to allow you to achieve a comfortable and secure fit. Still, I think my ears are inbetween sizes, so I'm considering the Comply foam tips. I continually have to reseat the left earbud when working out. I like the option to wear under or over ear, and the cord management system is very well thought out.
Now for the complaint----why does my Plantronics ear piece, which cost less than half as much as these NEVER have a problem connecting? If my phone is on and BT active, all I have to do is TURN THE EARPIECE ON and it automatically pairs with my iPhone 6 and my Nano. No problem, 100 percent perfect every single time. The Blue Buds, on the other hand, are a hit or miss proposition. Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to make my device(both of them, actually) forget the Blue Buds and re-pair them. It's a pain, and it's pretty inexcusable.
Still, if you're considering these or the PowerBeats, these are a no-brainer. The sound is not quite as good as my Yuin PK3 wired earbuds, but I figure BT is always a compromise. These sound as good as I expect wireless earbuds to sound. …
