Have one bulb in the ceiling fan, one in a small lamp in the far corner of the room and one in an accent light behind my laptop while on its stand. Setup couldn't be easier... insert the bulbs and turn them all on, plug the signal unit into one of the open ethernet ports on your base station (cable included) and connect the AC adapter. Start the app up and press the button on the signal unit and you're all set. Bulbs at their highest setting are brighter than expected though still not as bright as conventional bulbs but that's to be expected. Really phenomenal option for people who work from home and want total control over the brightness of multiple lights to optimize their screen work. Price may seem steep but it is what it is. Though once you install it and use it you'll think it's worth every penny.

Product was very easy and simple to set up...in Fact my six year old did all of the connections and i downloaded the app. The light output is as good or better than your normal light bulb and the color combination you see and get its just makes it that much better. I installed one on my sons room and tried the gradually dimming feature and it worked on the first try. If you are considering spending over 4K on a full house lighting system....make sure you spend the $199 starter kit and you will be Happy you did. I will be ordering more bulbs as they become available to change the entire house to this new system.

App could use some tweaking to make it a bit easier to use as there was a bit of a learning curve. All in all, set up was very easy (less than 3 minutes). I have the starter pack and 2 additional bulbs. I'll be ordering 10 more today to set up more rooms. Groups are a bit of a pain to set up as you have to create a scene and from what I can figure out so far can only set up colors in a group from an existing photo. Colors can be adjusted on an individual light but won't save unless in a scene. Could be I need to spend even more time on the app. Fade function didn't work in my first few trials but again I expect this to be me just taking more time to figure everything out. I also haven't been able to get a group programmed on my iphone to appear on the home ipad for others to use. Not sure if there's a way but will be a pain to set them up on multiple devices. Only a 2 year warranty even though they say the light is good for 15. Having stated all the learning issues, it's a very cool product, easy to get started and in my opinion completely replaces a crestron type lighting system. It is expensive but much less than a home lighting system would be. I will continue to hopefully replace every bulb in the house as various sizes are hopefully released.

They are bright, create a range of colours well, and 2 or 3 can light a room in the evening. The iPhone app has been improved recently too.

However I've had a problem with 2 bulbs making a very high pitched whistle when turned off in the app. One bulb was loud enough to be heard from the other side of the room, the other was bad if you sat in the chair next to it. The everyhue forums have a bunch of other users reporting this too.

I was told by Philips it was a known issue and I could return the bulbs. This was a pain as it took 6 weeks and multiple calls to get the new ones. Then one of the replacements turned out to be just as bad. So now I have to decide whether I want to be without that for another month, or live with the noise. Not great considering I've spent a good £500 on Hue products.

    Fast setup

Lots of customization if your iPhone is Jailbroken ( I can tap my home button twice to turn my lights on using HueHueHue and have all of my lights turn on )
5 Hue lights = one light bulb. Lots of light for less $
    Remote Access via LTE/4G

    Cons
    ---------------------------------------------
    Expensive startup cost
Hue application is pretty clunky and could be much more user friendly
Lights are not nearly as ranged as they claim to be. Most dark colors do not exist in these lights ( Dark reds, greens, blues are very limited ) and is definitely not as advertised. Hopefully this will be changed with future updates if the lights have the capability?
Dimmer or On/Off switch is mad expensive for what it is

I have a 3 storey house with the bridge on the middle floor and 2 bulbs also on this floor. No problems connecting to these bulbs and the system works as advertised. However, I have put 2 bulbs on the top floor (real distance around 7m direct from the Bridge and 3m directly above one of the other bulbs) and the lights are constantly unreachable - the stated range is 30m but I do appreciate that travelling through a floor will affect the signal. The mesh network created by bulbs is very weak as is the bridge signal. A call to customer support suggested buying a separate starter pack for the top floor. Despite not having the first set working properly, I also don't have a network connection upstairs as is required for the bridge - the support representative responded with "oh...". Support really don't have a clue. For such a high end product I expected a lot more. I would be happy to try and extend the system upstairs but the closed nature of the product seems to make this impossible unless you try to build a big mesh network of more bulbs - not practical in the house I have - I have already placed the bulbs as effectively as I can. A more practical solution would be a mini bridge for use in other locations acting as a wi-fi repeater of sorts. The 5 star reviews on here may be valid for a system set up in 1 room or on one floor where the bulbs are located close to the bridge but if you have anything other than that, don't waste the considerable money that this costs!
