Product Information

  • Overview

Gardening advice has just been given a high-tech makeover. With its unique Plant Care Engine, the Koubachi can monitor everything your plant needs: water, fertiliser, humidity, temperature and light. It then gives you an individual care plan tailored to specific plants by considering the species and the plant's own water usage rate, light intensity and temperature.

The Koubachi accurately determines the vitality of your plant and sends you a notification on your iPhone or by email with precise care advice at the right time. For example, the soil moisture sensor will give you overwatering alarms and you’ll receive alerts when the temperature sensor determines that it is too warm or cold for your plants.

You can access your plants on your iPhone or via the web app. All your data, plants and settings are fully synchronised to the Koubachi Cloud and thus will always give you up-to-date information no matter which device you use. Only one sensor is needed for all your plants, too. Put the sensor on one plant then give it a fortnight and Koubachi will have learned all it needs to know to pro¬vide you with accurate advice.

Works great both outside and inside. It is especially helpful for the plants in my greenhouse. The app is very well designed and it is both fun and informative to use it. I find I am more engaged in my gardening with this useful tool. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to do as good a job as possible tending the plants.

I bought five of the outdoor sensors.
They keep telling me my plants are too warm and the sun is too bright.

They keep telling me my plants are too warm and the sun is too bright.
The temperature and daily sunshine quota is still quite moderate for WA.
When I contacted Koubachi their response was:-

"You are free to just ignore / disable temperature and light and just use the soil moisture sensor."

I have the outdoor model, and placed it in the pot containing my tree peony plant. First off, this plant is not in the Koubachi plant library, and I've sent emails and photos to the support staff over several months about adding the peony to the database. Support has responded and thanked me, but still there is no peony in the library. The device monitors the level of moisture, and I find that useful. The fertilizing notifications are not so helpful, since I fertilized after receiving a notice that it was time to do so, and yet have continued to receive notices that the plant needs fertilizer. I believe there are some problems to work out with the Koubachi sensor. It's fun to use, and a delightful idea and I hope these small problems will be resolved.
