Great design, great material, great sleeve.
I bought this because I wanted to protect my brand new MBA from the "dreaded dings" without taking up a lot of space in my courier I bought this because I wanted to protect my brand new MBA from the "dreaded dings" without taking up a lot of space in my courier bag. After seeing this on the Apple website I decided to step into the Apple store to check it out. Needless to say I was sold in a second. It's made out of a sturdy, stiff, almost ballistic nylon material that is not at all flimsy like so many of the neoprene zippered pouches out there. It's soft and well padded on the inside and really does fit my machine like a glove. Best of all, it adds very little thickness to the computer so the portability of the MBA really shines through. Oh, it looks cool too. Well done Thule, easily the best sleeve out there. …

Sturdy and Slim
I don't usually buy cases like this (Apple sent it to me as an apology for a shipping delay) but I must say I'm quite impressed. T I don't usually buy cases like this (Apple sent it to me as an apology for a shipping delay) but I must say I'm quite impressed. The material Thule uses feels practically like Kevlar. I feel like I could carry it under my jacket and stop a knife attack. Needless to say, it will keep the bumps and nicks off your computer.
The inside is smooth felt, and the velcro flap is strong and secure. My 13inch Retina MacBook fits snugly, and the whole thing barely adds a couple millimeters of thickness to the laptop. It still fits well in my computer bag. Now I have one more layer of protection. Nice! …

Great Case for 13" MBP Retina
Have had this case for 6 months now and I am super pleased with it. My 13" MBP Retina fits very nicely in it. The edge on three Have had this case for 6 months now and I am super pleased with it. My 13" MBP Retina fits very nicely in it. The edge on three sides is very sturdy and the open side protects my MBP because the velcro flap keeps the computer about a 1/4" from the opening. I have traveled extensively with this case in my backpack and it has done a great job protecting my laptop. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their MBP, but does not want a cover attached to their MBP all of the time. …

Glue Doesn't SEAM To Stick
First may I preface by stating I LOVE Thule products and NEVER write reviews. However, I want to warn people of at least my defec First may I preface by stating I LOVE Thule products and NEVER write reviews. However, I want to warn people of at least my defective case. No matter how fantastic the rest of the product is, when the Mac slides in topside and FALLS OUT the bottom side due to the bottom seam of the shell separating fully across, it is obviously a problem.
I was disappointed to see this product still for sale on the website and feel it my consumer obligation to notify others of this potential "fall out".
I take VERY good care of my products and the majority of the time my Mac is IN it's shell, it's also in a Patagonia computer bag. I will grab the case - with Mac inside - out of it to transport only to and from short distance and take the Mac out and leave the case solo ONLY when I cam using my Mac. The case is never abused.
I have had the case around 8-12 months and don't see why the entire seam should be separated other than defective adhesive. If it is on mine, it may be on yours also.
IF YOU NOTICE, they now make a 2.0 version with a zip. Personally, I prefer the velcro but is it possible the reason they updated the product was because they know of the defect? Oh, and that product is back ordered a month or two which demonstrates the typical genius, functionality and reliability of Thule product lines. …
