The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air is the ultimate AirPlay wireless audio system. It uses drive unit technologies and design principles refined and perfected for Bowers & Wilkins' most advanced reference-standard speakers.
AirPlay
Apple AirPlay technology allows music to be streamed wirelessly from your Mac to Zeppelin Air. You can even stream high-quality audio directly from your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch - without docking. If you have more than one Zeppelin Air, you can use them as an elegant multi-room system.
AirPlay is compatible with iOS 4.2 or later on iPad, iPod touch (2nd generation or later) and iPhone (3GS or later). Mac and PC connectivity requires iTunes 10.1 or later.

Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin re-wrote the rules for speaker docks. Zeppelin Air provides a seismic shift in audio performance. It retains the original Zeppelin's classic shape, but internally it's been completely redesigned. Best Speaker System Ever
I have been using the Zeppelin for hours and hours, and I must say it is far superior to ANY competition. Originally, I was lookin g at getting the Bose SoundDock 10. But when I listened to the Bose, I was not as pleased. I am very confident in saying that this is the best sound system that there is to offer. It is very balanced, and even shows up on the ipod with a speaker EQ for bass, and some ipod settings. It was great that you could turn up and down the bass. I am very pleased with Bowers and Wilkins, and will be getting a lot more products by this company. B&W by far is the leading speaker brand for anything you may need. I would recommend them to anyone. …

B&W Zeppelin air
The online reviews of this don't do it justice. The sound is truly amazing for an ipod/iphone dock and I could honestly give it a nod over a decent home stereo as it's simply that good. The only reason I can't go 5 stars is the occasional drop out of the air play. It's possible it's my home network, but I was honestly hoping it would be a little stronger than what it is. Overall though, the occasional drop out was far outweighed by the sound.
I didn't find airplay set up too hard, just connected it to my imac via the supplied ethernet cable and followed the diagrams that were provided. Pretty sure I was up and running in about 5 mins. B&W have done it again with this one and I'm very happy to have it! …- Written by Jeremy B from Tulsa

Speakers stop working after a while. NOT a speaker problem !
Hi,
I bought my wife 3 zepplin air speakers and a MacBook Air for her 40th birthday.
We placed the speakers around the house a nd had everything setup in no time, it was very simple and everything worked brilliantly.
That was until we changed internet service providers and had BT Infinity installed along with a new BT router.
After setting the speakers up to connect to the new BT router, we discovered that the speakers would stop working after 24 hours. You could no longer see the speaker on the mac or iphone until you turn them off and on again at the mains.
I discovered it was because of a setting on the BT Router that meant that the connection the router had given to speaker ( The IP Address ) would expire after 24 hours.
To get around this you have to manually setup the speaker by unticking the DHCP tick box and allocate it an IP Address that falls outside of the range of IP addresses that the BT Router would allocate to the speaker using DHCP.
E.g. if the router is set to allocate IP addresses in the range of 192.168.1.70 to 192.168.1.250 then you could allocate an IP address to the speaker of 192.168.1.60.

One of the best purchases I've ever made - Zeppelin Air Speakers
The sound is just not comparable. Rich, round, smooth and velvety, with good base. Everyone comments on how good it sounds.
We had it in the garden (large garden) for a summer party and the volume was sufficient enough to not be lost at all and quite honestly we could even have made it louder if we wished.
Yes, it could take a short while to set up if you have an old system (and if you're not a techie like me), but the results are just superb.
Initially I didn't consider this item as I saw it on the Gadget Show and thought it to be just the newest in pretentious gadgets, especially the shape. How wrong was I! The chap, may have been Greg at the Covent Garden Store, insisted that I listen to my own music on the Zepplin (and then others) and not look at the shape. Done and dusted and haven't looked back. Guess what, the shape has even grown on me too.

Fantastic!!
I have just invested the money and WOW!!! it blew my head off, how such an amazing sound can come out of such a small casing is mi nd baffleing
The WIFI worked well for me and easy....do not understand all the negative chat about it.
but there is a sound quility improvment when docked direct to the zeppelin.
Smashing product and worth all five stars no probs!

Poor sound & poor functionality
This worked OK for about 6 months then after a software update it decided to lose connection (no change to my wifi setup), I ended up resetting the Zep Air a couple times a week, in the end I contacted B&W support and when they finally responded, they denied any issues and told me to get an apple airport base station, like a mug I did and guess what - no change! Overall I would say that it is somewhat outdated as the Airplay works better with a 3GS than a 4S and now with the 5 the dock is useless. Sound quality is below average, boxy and shut in compared with other Airplay systems. I would not touch this or any B&W product again. …

They are very close but I feel the A7 is better. I own both and the A7 seems to have that little ext ra in both the bottom and top end.. I also have the A5 and frankly, the average listener (my wife's opinion) will not notice much difference between all of them. They are all great products. …

It has the 30pin connector not a lighting connector so you would not be able to dock the iPad mini, but setting up the speaker for airplay is very easy and as long as your ipad mini is connected to wifi it is easy to play to the speaker from the ipad mini …

You connect to a WiFi network via an app that you can download to an iPhone/iPad/iPod (touch) or to a Mac computer. This enables you to configure your Zeppelin Air for the specific WiFi network that you are using. I have an encrypted and hidden WiFi network that requires a password at home and found the process rather easy. The entire process took about 10 minutes, start to finish. The app is intuitive, includes demonstrations in case you feel out of your league, and provides easy feedback to the user.
Since I installed the app and configured for my WiFi I have had no problems. I run my Zeppelin primarily from my phone and also make use of the AUX input so that I have stereo from my TV. Now when I watch a movie from my iPhone/iPad/Mac it plays on the TV via the AppleTV and the sound runs through the Zeppelin!! …- Answered by Harris B from Sharjah
