can I connect an Ipad2 to a normal cable network? Or can I only connect to the internet through WiFi?

AnswerNope, only WiFi. There's nowhere to plug an ethernet cable into your iPad. Although, you can download apps and updates to your iPad through your computer using iTunes, which may speed up the download a bit.

Best AnswerSince the Ipad3 hit the market, I have only seen the Ipad2 in 16g new or 64g refurbished. But who knows what Apple will do for the Christmas season. Stay away from the Ipad1 since it will not work the iOS6 coming this fall.

My father was recently placed into a nursing home. I live in New England, he lives in KY. Which I-Pad would meet our needs for Facetime?
- Asked by Richard P from East Harwich

AnswerThis answer comes long after your submission and perhaps you've already set something up. It's a great idea. If the facility has wifi, then a wifi iPad would be a start. Of course, now with the iPad mini, that makes entry cost a bit less pricey. The challenge will be having the nursing home manage the iPad on their end. They will need to figure out how to secure the iPad so it's not "lost" and who will be responsible for managing the skype session. I'm planning on setting up some folks with the new iPad mini and would be interested in your experience if you have already initiated this. Dan Cohen

Should I get the newest Ipad (not Ipad mini) even though I have the Samsung Galaxy Note phone? Is it a good buy?
The Samsung Galaxy Note phone is a "tablet/phone" but I can't do actual work that I would do on my laptop on my phone, and I hate lugging my big laptop around school to finish up last minute details for a powerpoint or type up something really quick. So I don't know if I could buy an Ipad or put up with my chunky laptop. Help!

Is the new iPad practical for classroom use--taking extensive notes in class (with wireless keyboard), preparing Word documents, and presentations?
- Asked by Sandy H from North Salt Lake

Best AnswerBecause of its size and weight, and - for me - the need to use a keyboard (Zagg) extension, I find it is actually easier to take notes in class with a paper notebook and pen. It is easier to do Word documents and presentations on a full-size computer/keyboard combination. I like my iPad (2) for reading books (especially the inter-active children's book, Brave, which is visually extraordinary), viewing YouTube.com, and playing games. Another drawback that I have with my iPad is that I am not always near a WiFi facility. I tried - and failed - to install a router at home, so I still have to connect to iTunes to download music, etc.
