Great Design. Great Performance.
I've got tons of files, photos and video and I've been running low on storage space lately. Besides I got tired of managing multip le backup drives, so I've opted for this 3TB baby. It's quite heavy due to the thick aluminum enclosure. The design and the build quality are awesome. Transfer speeds are great. I also love that there is a data encryption option, which gives me peace of mind knowing that even if I leave the drive behind somewhere the information contained cannot be accessed and is totally secure. …

Wow
It is decently fast and quite, nice industrial design with a big thick aluminum heat sink on top, works like a charm with the new usb3 macs, it's second gen usb3 allowing scsi over USB protocol. Very happy with the fanless design, great for musicians or anyone who hates noise. …

Good product
I'd recommend this drive to anyone who needs a simple, and easy backup system. It was plug-and-play for me and so far I haven't ha d any issues with it. The backups are faultless with Time Machine and I don't have to worry about my data security, since it can be encrypted with this drive, nor about running out of space - 3TB is an enormous amount of storage capacity to safely save all my files, music, video and photos.. …

Low quality ac adapter
Great product!!! A higher quality or better insulated less flimsy power adapter would have been nice, but the one that comes with it works fine. …

Great Drive!
I love the aluminum look and feel. It protects the drive and helps keep it cool. The brushed aluminum casing is fingerprint-proof. Moreover, connected to my Mac, the drive looks like it's been designed by Apple. It functions perfectly. I would strongly recommend it. …

When this is full can I plug another into my computer without having to remove the full one? I'm looking for a kind of "linked" system?
- Asked by Lauren M from Kurnell
- 05/04/2013
Answer
Each one would require a USB socket to link to your computer then would show as an additional drive. A RAID type storage system however might be more appropriate to your needs depending on what sort of capacity you require. …

Can the P9233 be powered by USB port to the Macbook? Or does it need an external power cable to the power socket? Thanks
- Asked by Choon Seng N
- 27/08/2012

This hard drive does need an external power supply to work. However they do make a portable version, the P'9223, which doesn't need an external power supply. Only downside is the maximum size is 1TB. …

Can two computers share the same external hard drive?
- Asked by Kenneth S from Darlinghursst
- 19/10/2012
Best Answer
Yes, and no...
Two computers can use the drive, but not at the same time. You'll have to "eject" the drive from the desktop of one computer, then physically unplug it before it can be used on the next computer.
Time machine can store backups for both computers on the drive, but can only do it one machine at a time. …- Answered by Glenn T from Lemont
