Is Vestax Spin compatible with Virtual Dj? If so, how do i connect them together? and is it possible with home version or do i need to download pro?

Best AnswerThe Spin is compatible with virtual Dj.
What you need to do is download the ASIO driver.
To find it, simply google, asio4all and it should lead you to the website. Download it, install, and then run VDJ and go to configuration and you should see where you need to change the driver to ASIO4ALL.
Hope that helps!- Answered by Charles O

Can you use it in Europe on a other computer too???
Hey!
I'm Jessie and I'm from the Netherlands, and I love this product and I want to buy it.
But my big question is if I can use it in Europe.
Because I want to use it in America and in Europe, if anyone knows just a little bit I'm allready pleased with that information.
And why did you choose this product????
Thanks everybody!

AnswerHi Jessie
Yes.
the power adapters that are sold by apple (and most other companies) are listed as 120-240 volt devices, 50-60 cycle AC (or there about) so they can be used in EU, USA, UK, ASIA, etc. It is very rare these days to find chargers that aren't multivoltage input. All of them will have the input written on them (al be it maybe in VERRRRY small letters...)
The main only difference is on the plug into the electric end adapter you have (for me in USA, it is always the two parallel flat prongs) and the adapter that you'll need for each country. To clarify, by this I mean the two round prong adapter for EU, the three kind of square prongs for UK, the two parallel flat prongs for USA etc
as long as you have these adapters (either thru apple which sells a kit that has the adapters that REPLACE your existing one on their charger OR thru some third party vender that you then plug your original apapter into.
the apple one has the advantage of replacing your current one from another country and no need to think about it. the third party adapters have the advantage of being able to be used for other device chargers such as your phone charger or camera battery charger for instance.
One thing I do if I need to plug a number of items in is not only carry a third party travel adapter to my own country devices, BUT I also carry a standard three prong power tap from my home country to be able to plug in three home country devices into one adapter.
these three prong taps (available at hardware stores etc) are also useful in my home country for instance at an airport when I need to charge my phone, AND all the available outlets are being used by other travelers, nobody usually minds if you unplug them for a moment, put in the three outlet tap, replug them in and have two extra outlets for me
By the way, I understand that the apple chargers for mac are ONLY sold by apple, due to the patented mag safe connection so that is why I choose that product.- Answered by Barrie S from Long Beach

will this work with djay app on ipad?
- Asked by Andrew J from Sydney
- 12/10/2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerThe Vestax Spin now officially supports Algoriddim's djay 1.4 for iPad. Taking advantage of the new iOS 5 features of iPad, Vestax and Algoriddim have worked closely to make the Spin seamlessly control the new version of djay for iPad. Simply connect Spin to your iPad with Apple's USB camera adaptor kit and you can mix, scratch and play music as a DJ would right at your finger tips. Spin with djay for iPad shares the same plug & play ability as like djay for Mac, offering everything you need to be a DJ. Algoriddim's djay for iPad is available on the app store.

AnswerAs far as I know, most AC Adapters are around the same thing at both ends. Go to your local Electrical store, and ask them. Thats your best option.

AnswerYou need a power-amp to drive the speakers, yes. 1000 watts is probably going to be a lot of volume. I'm assuming though you're not planning to play at clubs or anything like that just yet. Make sure you have a set of headphones too by the way, you need them for proper DJing.

Already have the software. Can I just purchase the controller?
I purchased the DJAY software when I bought my new Mac book pro. I didn't realize I needed to purchase this controller as well. Can I just purchase the controller without the software

AnswerNO.
The Vestax Spin controller is designed specifically for use with the included AlgoRiddim DJay software.
While it is true that the Spin is totally capable of being assigned to work with practically any other DJ application...in no way does this deem that it should be sold on it's own. Considering that the Vestax Spin sells for nearly HALF the cost of a comparable Vestax VCI-100 and includes an internal soundcard (the VCI-100 does not), so maybe you should just consider the software as an added FREE bonus.- Answered by Alan S from Marietta

how do you scratch?
how can i control the turntables to scratch with the jog wheel?

Best AnswerYou use them like you would regular vinyl records - just touch the metal surface and rotate the platters to scratch. If you touch them by the plastic outer rings, you can speed up or slow down the track playing.

Could I use the mic input to record just my microphone instead of getting an audio interface?
- Asked by Daniel W from Scarsdale
- 19/03/2010
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYou can record just the microphone from the Spin, but that's a waste of the product and overkill. You Mac already includes audio input, so if you aren't going to use the mixing capability of the Spin, you don't need to (and shouldn't) spend the money.

Can I use this with more than one Mac or does it have to be the same Mac every time?
I have a mac mini but want to also use this device with my friend's macbook. Is it possible to switch off between macs or do I need to be constant with which one I use?

Answeryes, you can use the device on more than one computer, but the software on the other hand-may only be able to be used on one computer, I got information that one can purchase extra registration codes directly from Algoriddim for much cheaper than the software price specifically for the purpose for adding the software on to other computers.

Best AnswerYou shouldn't need a learn function in the software that is bundled with the program. The DJAY software is already setup for the hardware, it looks like they were designed together.
