Have had one of these for 19 months, the sound quality is staggering for such a small cabinet, but well it is Bang and Olufsen. T Have had one of these for 19 months, the sound quality is staggering for such a small cabinet, but well it is Bang and Olufsen. The base is deep and the quality of the music is second to none, I now listen to a wider range of music as it makes music more enjoyable and involving, bringing out sounds that lesser units wouldn't be able to cope with.

When I originally bought it the music could drop out when using Airplay but this issue is now resolved.

Any downside is the price, but saying that it will out perform more expensive separates systems and the fact I need a new ipad with bigger memory to store my expanding music collection!

    Worth it? Definitely!

The BeoPlay 8 is superb at replicating crisp tones and high notes, without the bass boom, common in many music systems. Expensive but well worth the investment.

  • Beautiful speakers but drops out and no support

    2.0 out of 5 stars

I agree with Flemming Ravn's review above.

I've had my A8 for about a year, and it's never worked with the network properly. So I agree with Flemming Ravn's review above.

I've had my A8 for about a year, and it's never worked with the network properly. Sometimes it just stops for no apparent reason. The AirPlay function is very flaky: sometimes it doesn't appear on the screen as a choice, and when it does, the streaming stops more frequently. Sometimes it doesn't even work when it has an iPhone in the dock and all the lights are on.

At the moment I'm trying to stream television to the speakers but there's a three-second time lag, which is no fun.

So it's a lovely box but varies from sublime to useless. And when it drops out in the middle of Beethoven's Ode to Joy, one does question the decision to buy it.

Bang & Olufsen who sold it to me were also hopeless: when it didn't work at all, they wanted me to pay $200 per hour for their technician to come to my house! After many protests they connected me to their "tech support" who could not suggest anything except what I had already done. Useless.

  • Great sound.....when it actually works....

Looks stunning and initially seem to be a high quality product, but its a massive dissapointment. The sounds is great, but the co Looks stunning and initially seem to be a high quality product, but its a massive dissapointment. The sounds is great, but the connection with Airplay is rubbish, it doesnt connect when you want it to, and when it actually does connect it often loose connection. Adding to this, the customer support is appaling. I really want to like the Danish product, but unfortunately its absolutely terrible.
