Would the Mac mini i5 dual core 2.5ghz 4gb ram be good for my needs
Hi,
So I am very attracted to the price of the Mac mini. What really captures my attention is the fact that with the right plugins it can be plugged into my tv. I have a mouse, keyboard, and a tv and a monitor. So these are my main uses:
Constant web browsing
School work
Computer programming with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
So I know that the first two will do but how about the last one. I know about the other computers but I just want to know about the Mac mini so please don't recommend the other Mac computers. Thanks.- Asked by Ashlen M from Los Angeles

macbook air 11" vs macbook air 13"
I am on the road constantly, so size and weight of a laptop is important. It will be used mostly for Office apps...powerpoint , excel, word and email. This is strictly for business, so no personal files and not a lot of large files, etc. Would you recommend the Macbook Air 11" or 13"?

Best AnswerFor a road warrior such as yourself, the 11" would be best. High resolution (for that size screen), only weights 2.5lbs, and can be used inflight on a fold down tray (the 13" is a little tight for that...I know, I have one and I've tried it). Has plenty of power to run Office apps.
If you want more screen space, you could always get a Thunderbolt display and dock it when you're home...that way you get the best of both portability and screen resolution.- Answered by Greg S from San Antonio

Macbook Air 11" 2012 4GB vs 8GB?
I want to get a macbook air for university but I dont know if it'a worth it to upgrade the 11" to 8 GB of RAM or to just keep it at 4GB?
- Asked by Lindsay M from Vernon

Best AnswerIt depends on how you will use your machine, and what apps you use regularly. If you use apps such as Photoshop, then more RAM will make a difference. Or, if you like to run many apps at one time, or have lots of tabs open in your browser.
Some other pros and cons consider: You can't upgrade it later--never. If you intend to resell it, you probably won't get the money back out of the upgrade. If you keep it a "long" time, you will want more RAM as apps develop and require more.
Personally, I have never regretted having more RAM.- Answered by Jon M from Clarkesville

My PC (Compaq) gave out on me and I'm entertaining replacing it with either a Macbook Air 13 inch (128GB) or the Macbook Pro 13 inch (2.4 ghz). HELP!
I am a group fitness manager and the bulk of the memory of my itunes is exercise music. I checked my ipad and out of 32GB, I've already used 23GB of the total memory. (That is just a thousand songs roughly. Industry wise, that is a small library of music - and I intend to increase my music collection.) I also have exercise videos and choreography loaded in my current itunes library and ipad. So in terms of storage, the Air worries me as my budget will allow for the 128GB only.
Another important concern is that I shuttle between 3 different centers for work so yes, transporting my work laptop is an issue. My back has suffered because of the weight I need to carry around, so in terms of this dimension, the Air seems to be the runaway winner.
My monthly reports are in Excel (I've never had a Mac before, this will be my first) and I suppose in either models, I have to get software to make it compatible - did I understand it correctly?
I am not a gamer. I only dabble in Cafe World by Zynga (I know, "serious" gamers laugh at it and the ones who play it) so the issue of graphics quality is not all that important to me. (Which is why for the PRO, I don't need the AMD Radeon.) I'm not in advertising, so I don't think I'll be using Final Cut Pro or other apps of that nature.
I do use youtube and other video sites frequently, both for music videos and exercise applications. I browse sites like ACE and ACSM for information. I regularly do online transactions. As far as ordering exercise music, I'm planning to switch completely to downloading instead of (how I used to do it until last year) ordering CDs from the USA and having them shipped all the way to the Philippines. (The fees are killing me.)
I need help deciding which of the two models would be better, given my worklife and lifestyle. Price wise, they are roughly the same so I need to hear advice from people who actually use either of these models.
Thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate it!- Asked by Joey R from Quezon City

Best AnswerI would say the Macbook Air. From reading everything you wrote, I think the one thing you should be concerned about is storage. But remember, there's always external hard drives or other options if you need more space. 256GB is a lot more than it sounds. The RAM, processor and graphics would not be an issue for the way you're going to use your new laptop.
Macbook Air! I think it's the right choice.- Answered by Peter A from South Portland

MacBook Pro 13 or 15 for Developer
Migrating from PC to Mac. Machine primarily used to develop java applications using Eclipse IDE and also will run MySQL database for SQL Query development and tuning. Secondary use would be photo editing/management as I am also an amateur travel photographer. With either machine will go 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and retina display. Will the dual i5 in the MacBook Pro be sufficient or should I go with the quad i7 in the 15 MBP? My current laptop has lasted 5 years and hoping to get similar from new MBP.

Should i buy a mac? Which Mac?
Hi! I´m a huge fan of mac but i don't own one and i want to change that. I wanna use photoshop and other graphic programs but i'm going to the university in 5 years, yes and i want to buy a machine which helps me on that work. I want to be a programmer and i don't know if mac suits me. And if it does which? Is the macbook air 11in good for gaming?
I was thinking about buying the macbook air 11" for mainly gaming. I'm only 13 and this is the cheapest laptop, and alot eaisier to carry (to school or long trips). The games i would get are:
Minecraft
Slenderman
The Walking Dead
Left 4 Dead
Steam
Ect.
I paid for most of my games and played it on windows XP so if the graphics arent good its fine but as long as its better.
Would it be better than windows XP?
Is it ok for gaming?
Would most of these games work? And which games should i avoid getting?- Asked by Alissa C from Glendale

1. Facebook gaming (most flash games)
2. Online YouTube streaming and live soccer streaming
3. Office words, excel and PowerPoint
I'm contemplating between Mac Book Po and Mac book Air. Can someone advise on which I should take and the model? I'm hoping to get a big screen for him, but must be a MacBook...
Can someone advise please?

I would like to buy either Ipad3 or macbook air. I cannot seem to decide and maybe you can help me. This needs to be family friendly.
I have 2 kids 12 & 16 who will prob want to download music and movies. I have a husband who travels a lot so I would like to be able to chat to him via email or skype. Although I have not used a mac before I have used the ipad and found it easy to navigate, will this be the case with the mac book air. Please advise which you think i should buy.

- Asked about: iPad
Best AnswerThe Macbook Air is even easier to navigate than the iPad. I own both and found that I prefer the macbook air for a few reasons.
1. The iPad can only do ONE THING AT A TIME. Yes, it has multitasking, but you only have one screen/program. The macbook air is a full computer. It can run multiple programs in multiple windows and you can see those windows at the same time.
2. The ease of use of the iPad has essentially been ported over to MacBooks with the giant trackpad and gestures in Lion. You'll find yourself doing what you need to faster than you've ever done on windows or the iPad.
3. The highest configuration iPad can only hold 64GB of data. Your kids will download music and movies and you'll find that gone quickly. Most Airs come with 128GB standard, but can be upgraded to 512GB if needed. You can also get an external HD, USB 3.0 to add even more storage. I keep my entire music library on an external 32GB USB Drive and it works great.
4. The only drawback on the Air over the iPad is the price, which is often doubled. However, the benefits of the Air are still more than double the iPad...- Answered by Michael X from Farmington

Which macbooks are good in gaming?
Which macbooks can be use as everyday laptop and for some gaming throughout the day? I prefer lighter laptop, but I don't know whether macbook air (mid 2012) is good for gaming or not. Considering the specs itself. So I looked up onto retina 13inch (late 2012), but it uses Intel HD 4000 which I don't really knows its performance for gaming. Retina 15inch is quite big so it's not as portable as macbook air or retina 13inch. So what I need is something like quick comparison between macbooks performance that include macbook air 13inch and macbook pro retina for both 13 and 15 inch. Thanks in advance

Macbook Pro 13 inch vs 15 inch
I need a laptop for college, but I have never owned a mac. I want to get a MBP. I would rather get the 13 inch because it is cheaper but I am not sure if this will be a problem. I plan on using it for schoolwork, email, web browsing, and possibly some gaming (Diablo 3). Would it really be a big deal to go with a cheaper MBP? Which would you recommend?

Best AnswerI bought the 13 inch MBP almost two years ago, and I am perfectly happy with this computer in every way. I do my school work on here and watch a lot of TV shows and have never wished I'd gotten a bigger size. I can imagine the 13 inch makes it slightly more portable. Now, I'm considering a MacBook Air for grad school, as this computer does make my backpack pretty heavy, especially if I want to carry anything else with me. Hope this helps!

Which Macbook Pro is better for college students?

Best AnswerI'm personally going for the 2011 13" version. Where I live it's only $899.99 and all my friends who have had theirs have nothing but good things to say about it. The only reason I would consider getting the newer one would be because of the 3.0 USB (transfers information between the usb and the computer in a fraction of the time) but I'm not sure that is worth $200 extra dollars. And the better screen resolution is not something I'm too sold on. Also, the 15" only adds a bigger screen in the mix. When you are going class to class the 2" might not matter much. The size is kind of your own personal opinion. Smaller is always better for me!
Hope this helps a little. (:- Answered by Jessica F from Salt Lake
