No you do not need a PC to use an iPad. That is what is great about iCloud and iOS 5, once you activted your iPad and registered with Apple you can create an iCloud account that will store all your info like app documentation, iMessages e.t.c. The Apple account will store your app, music and video purchases so you can download straight onto your iPad, no PC needed.

Are ipads a good place to store pictures taken from our camera and our iphones?
Our son recently broke our home laptop. Rather than purchasing a new lap top we are contemplating just purchasing an ipad given we already have work PCs and were already thinking of purchasing an ipad. We only used our home laptop for photo downloading and storage, skype with the family out of town and home finances (quicken). I understand there are apps for home finance available, so confident we could find something we liked, but I'm concerned about photo storage capacity. Our camera is an SLR, we don't take a ton of photos, but enough where I wouldn't want to bog down our ipad with photo storage memory (i believe you can purchase a device to download photos from memory cards). Any feedback on recommended solutions would be much appreciated.

Best AnswerApple makes a great app for iPad called Keynote ($9.99 in the App store). it is a presentation maker/editor designed for the iPad with support to import a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation and convert it to a Keynote Presentation, automatically. You can also choose to export the presentation as a PowerPoint presentation if you need to the best way to get this presentation onto your iPad would be to move it to a folder in your Drop-Box (a cloud based service) and open it up on your iPad via the Drop-Box for iPad app.. If you don't have a Drop-Box account then just email it to yourself and open the received email on your iPad and open the attachment in Keynote. You can read all about keynote on Apples website or on the App's page on the App store.

Does the plug for the ipad2 charger come off so you can use the world adapter?
the original plug looks to be about 1 1/2 inch square. Where the prongs are is a section which appears to be able to be taken out. Does it snap apart so as to use the world travel adapter for Continental Europe?

Can I get 3G added to my iPad 2? I cannot connect to the Internet unless I have code and password.
My husband bought me the iPad 2 but as we didn't understand the implication of having 3G, he didn't get it. I would like to access the Internet wherever I am but can't. Is there any way to add 3G to my iPad now?

Best AnswerYes you can if you have an iPhone. Go into settings, personal hotspots and switch to on. It should then pair up with your ipad. I have recently done this and is successful.

Best AnswerThe easiest way to accomplish this is to get an iCloud subscription ( Free to sign up ) . This way you can keep both devices in sync with each other with Applications, Notes, eMail (dot ME ), Reminders, Photo you take with either the iPad or iPhone, Bookmarks and Calendars.

Best AnswerNop. However I assume you would use the dongle for connectivity, and the iPad offers you 4G and wireless connectivity, so you wouldn't need the dongle. Plus most modern dongles are 3G, and iPad already supports 3G so just take the sim card out of the dongle and plug it into the iPad directly to get connectivity.
