Will Parallels work with Windows XP?

Just purchased IMac, upgraded to Lion. If I install Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, will it work with Windows XP or only with Windows7

    yes; you will need a 'full' (i.e., not an upgrade) version of windows xp; and to be sure of successful installation, you will need a retail copy rather than one supplied with a pre-installed windows pc from an oem or other source.
