Will Apple Wireless Keyboard wake up my MacBook Pro from sleep (standby) when it is connected to external monitor and the lid is closed?

    Yes. Go Under your Bluetooth Preferences and then click on Advanced. There you can check a box that says "Allow Bluetooth Device to Wake This Computer.

  • If you have your Mac set up to be woken up by Bluetooth devices (The option isn't in system preferences, but I don't remember where), then yes
