can you use this to share a hard drive over a pc network

i want to use this to share media from an external drive over my network. (pc windows)

    Yes, it supports sharing external drive over the network.
    The external HDD need to support USB interface that used to connect to AirPort Extreme Base Station. This is shown in the spec page of the Airport Extreme. However, since the AirPort Extreme have one USB slot, you can only share either a printer, or a HDD over the network, not both.

    With Airport Extreme and external HDD, Time Machine does not integrate to support wireless backup automatically and nicely as in Time Capsule. You on the other hand can configure a network backup yourself and get the same result and effect. There are many tutorials online show you how to do that.

  • Yes you can. However, the drawback is ExFAT and NTFS formats aren't supported. You can determine the format of your HDD by right clicking your HDD and then properties.

  • no to do that you should get time capsul you get wi fi and hard drive sharing
