Will it work with a phillips stereo idock MCM704D and for for a 3GS iphone

I have an Phillips stero system that came with an idock and several adapters. I could never use on my iphone 3GS. The sound wouldn´t be with a good quality.
I don´t know if this is what you call an universal dock, but I was just wondering if I get this adapter, since I have a dock, if it would work with my iphone 3GS.

Under the idock says: ipod dock for MCM704D.
