Through Hp efax sets you up with a telephone number just like a regular fax machine. Your printer has to be connected to the internet to send or recieve the fax. "Wifi is your telephone line". It is no extra fee, and you can send and recieve up to 20 faxs for free.

HP eFax feature has been disabled for all countries except USA. You can no longer fax for free from this printer if bought in Australia. I have confirmed this with HP staff today.
