Does it play audio from a MacBook that isn't through iTunes, such as from YouTube or QuickTime?

Not yet. AirPlay is integrated into iTunes only at this point. Might change in the future.

Nope, I havent worked out how to yet anyway.
I have the Air connected wirelessly and playing through itunes as we speak. When i click on youtube, the video sound plays though my mac speakers.- Answered by Adam S
