Apple has updated the display output and no longer uses the mini-dvi port. The MacBook Air (and all Apple has updated the display output and no longer uses the mini-dvi port. The MacBook Air (and all new Macs) use the Thunderbolt (also called mini display port). You need a mini-displayport to VGA adapter.
