Is there a cost to me to recycle my computer hardware?
No. When you purchase a new Apple computer, Apple will cover the cost of home pickup, shipping to the recycling center, and recycling of your old equipment.
How many pieces of equipment can I recycle?
If you want to return only one piece of equipment:
You may recycle up to 30 kgs per box with a maximum of 2 boxes. The PC and monitor will need to be packed separately.
If you want to return more than one piece of equipment:
Apple recycling will contact you to organize the pick up in the most efficient way.
What types of equipment may be recycled?
Apple Recycling accepts equipment which is equivalent to equipment sold on the Apple Irish Online Store.
What types of computer hardware may be recycled?
Apple Recycling accepts many types of computer hardware, including desktops, notebooks, and monitors.
What if I didn't get an email with instructions?
If you have not received a confirmation Email within 5 working days of your request, please send an Email to: recycling@euro.apple.com.
How do I pack my hardware for shipping?
If you want to return only one piece of equipment
- For hardware, follow these simple shipping tips (you will need to provide your own packing material):
- Remove all personal data from your system.
- Use sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes. We encourage the use of recycled boxes.
- Please make sure that the box is in good condition to ship your equipment.
- Wrap fragile materials individually so they do not touch each other.
- Please make sure that the contents in the box are secure and packaged firmly inside.
- Tape the box closed
- Remove old address/shipping labels from the outside of the box.
- Clearly write in big text "APPLE RECYCLING" on the outside of the box.
If you want to return more than one piece of equipment:
- Apple recycling will contact you to organize the packing in the most efficient way.
How do I ship my hardware to the recycling centre?
Apple's carrier will pick up your equipment at your home within 10 business days of your recycling request date.
Where will my hardware be picked up?
The shipping address is the location where the carrier will pick up your equipment.
I've shipped the wrong hardware. How do I get it back?
Once the hardware has been shipped, it cannot be returned to you. By participating in this service and giving your hardware to the carrier, you have relinquished your rights to the hardware.
What if the carrier does not pick up my equipment in 10 business days?
For some locations it may take longer than the standard 10 business days for pickup. Your Recycling Confirmation email will give you more information.
